Big Resort

Posted 20-Jul-2015
Cons: The Resort needs an overhaul.
Everything was clean, but looking rather tired. The furnishings were functional rather than comfortable. The meal in the bistro was just ordinary.

Very out dated. Not worth the money

Posted 23-Jun-2015
Pros: Nothing really. I was really dissapointed.
Cons: The upholstery.
From the pictures on the internet the rooms looked nice and over looked the beach. I had a very outdated room over looking the car park. The hotel was not very busy at all so I don't see why I wasn't given an ocean view room. There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room. I forgot my toothbrush and the hotel did not have any - I had to make a taxi trip into the town. The internet is only available in public areas. I was attending a 2 day conference - there was no healthy option for morning or afternoon tea, just cakes or biscuits. There is only very basic channels on the tv too. My room was very cold too.

Disappointing

Posted 26-May-2015 on Wotif
The Opal Cove Resort is a disappointing resort. It must have been amazing when built but nowadays it is old, tired, uncomfortable and dirty. The staff where nice but not helpful and we were shocked to hear them recommend other resorts for breakfast, dinner and even to play golf. We had a lovely time because we just needed to be away but will not be returning.

Spacious Rooms, But Need To Be Updated.

Posted 24-May-2015 on Wotif
Check in was easy, but nobody assisted us with our bags. The room we booked was one Queen Bed. Instead, we ended up with two doubles. When asking if we can swap to a room with one bed and a couch, as per our booking, we were informed the hotel was completely booked out, and they can't even upgrade us. During our stay we saw about three people in the resort, and A LOT of unoccupied rooms. The rooms are really really big, but definitely need to be renovated. The green carpet and features were a little outdated, and the bathroom was less than impressive. The resort's location is wonderful. It rained a lot while we were there, but it's right on the beach, and has a little lake next to it. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, well worth paying upfront for. When our rooms were made up, they didn't restock our shampoo and conditioner, so that was a pain. Overall, it's not a bad place. If I came back to Coffs for a few nights, I don't think I would choose this one again.

Everything was good, but the air conditioner was really noisy throughout the night.

Opal Cove Review

Posted 20-May-2015 on Hotels
Air conditioning was faulty and there was not enough light in the room. Not enough choice for either room service, bar menu or al-a-carte. Drinks at the bar, pricey!!

Modern and complete.

Posted 18-May-2015 on Wotif
Pros: Handy for the main road traveller without the noise.
Cons: Staff to check room for completeness of presentation. On the morning of departure I found that there was no bath plug and no wash basin plug.
Location: Handy for the main shopping complex, beach and other attractions.
As expected from the outward appearance. Passing through Coffs Harbour and therefore used limited facilities only.
