Of the three houses we stayed in on our trip, this was our favorite. Everything was clean and the house was well stocked. We went into Yellowstone twice and loved the scenery between the Wapiti house (beautiful cliffs, rock formations, river and bear) and the park. Really nice laundry room downstairs. The twins downstairs were a little short for our 6' plus but would be perfect for kids or smaller adults. The queen was great and the kings upstairs were too. The enclosed hot tub upstairs off the master was inviting and ready to go but we didn't have time to try it out. The main living area upstairs (kitchen, living room and two fabulous dining areas with beautiful huge window surrounds) was perfect for all of us to enjoy meals, play cards, watch a movie or just enjoy the views. The house itself was not what we expected. There were two chairs, one table and one lounge, that were both broke and very unstable. The appliances were very old, they worked, but very old and loud. The pans for cooking were not very good as they were cheap and everything stuck to the bottom. The grill was very dirty. The hot water for a 5 bedroom home didn’t stay hot for long with 10 people so many cold showers. The water hammer on the pipes when we showered was very loud and annoying. It would wake people up. The internet was slow and we couldn’t use the fire stick to watch tv. The beds were very uncomfortable, either too hard to sagged into the middle. Overall it’s a nice location and having a garage for the bikes was a bonus. Stayed 5 nights in Jul 2021 ### 4/10 Poor #### Jay B., Rockford IL Jun 23, 2021 Liked: Check-in, communication, location Disliked: Cleanliness #### Good location--but did not meet expectations for price Overall for what we paid (500+ per night) we were disappointed with this property. This does have a good location for getting into Yellowstone and great views from the house. The management staff was very responsive. However—for what we were paying we expected the house to be air-conditioned. This should have been disclosed in the listing. When we got to the house the temps in the main floor (great room, master bedroom, kitchen and dining area) was above 90 degrees. Opening the windows and using the fans took several hours to cool off the house. The management company did put in 2 window air conditioners the next day into the 2 upstairs bedrooms. But on the 2nd and 3rd days when we got back the main floor was still above 90 degrees and that was with the ceiling fans running and the window shades closed. It took several hours to cool off and the main floor was not usable except for the bedrooms that had the AC units. The problem with the house is it has 6+ large west facing windows and a cathedral ceiling. And there were issues with the plumbing. The 2 bathroom sinks when you used the cold water faucet—you got very hot water for several minutes. Would be a big issue for younger kids. Had dirty dishes in the kitchen and missing bread knifes from the silverware set. Would advise to look at other houses in the area. ##### Jay B. There was more than enough room for the 7 of us. The house was clean and comfortable and we felt right at home there. The views are incredible and it’s such a peaceful location. We met the owner and he was friendly and kind! He gave us some advice to check out Beartooth Pass and we are so glad he did, it was beyond spectacular! We had a wonderful vacation and this was the perfect location for us between Cody (we did whitewater rafting, horseback riding, and the rodeo) and Yellowstone (we spent 3 days exploring the park).
