La Playa Luna is a family sized home on the beachfront in Tierra Del Mar. This comfortable, relaxing home is a perfect spot to enjoy amazing oceanfront views. The upstairs great room is spacious and leads directly only the oceanfront deck. The Tierra Del Mar beach seems is an amazingly secluded long stretch of open sand, and borders the gorgeous Sitka Sedge State Natural Area. The home has 4 large bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and decks on every side of the house.

Layout:

2 level home. Split level entry. Upstairs has great room with oceanfront dining, living and kitchen. Master bedroom has king bed and full bath. 2nd bedroom with queen bed . 3rd bedroom with queen bed . Full hall bath. Downstairs has den with TV, bedroom with double bed and twin bed . Full hall bath. Large garage.

Neighborhood:
Tierra Del Mar is a small community of homes 3 miles north of Pacific City on Sandlake Road. Tierra Del Mar is on the Three Cape Scenic Route, off of Hwy 101. The low bank tranquil beach has views from Haystack Rock to Cape Lookout. This is a favorite place for locals and visitors alike.

For Summer Bookings between 7/1-9/4: There may not be one or two day gaps. So if you book a stay allowing this type of gap between bookings, you may be asked to cancel or move dates. We apologize for inconvenience but the online booking system does not allow for this type of rule.

This home is pet friendly for one or two dogs. Please let us know if you will be bringing a pet so that we can add the non-refundable pet fee of $10/night. Only well-behaved dogs are allowed. Pets are not allowed on the furniture, or left in the house unattended.

Occupancy rules are strictly enforced and apply to the entire property during the stay. Additional day-use guests may be allowed with management pre-approval. After your booking is confirmed, you will be sent the full rental contract and terms.

The safety of our staff, guests and local community is our top priority. This home is professionally managed and cleaned to strict standards in line with CDC guidelines, including supervised housekeeping and post-clean sanitation.

Cancellation policy: 1/2 the total cost of the booking is subject to forfeiture if reservation is canceled or changed within 30 days of arrival. 100% of rental rate is charged if cancelled (or no-show) within 7 days of arrival. If the house is fully rebooked by another renter, cancellation charges (less $35) will be refunded. Reservation cancellation fee is $35. (If you book with a 3rd party, different charges may apply).

Beautiful base for beach activities!

The house and the view are as described. We found a couple branches of pathways down to the beach right from our deck. Some were steep but one was flat enough for someone with bad knees. There is a hose on the deck to help sand down. We had two little pups with us and were happy to see it was such a dog friendly beach. There was enough in the kitchen to cook delicious dinners with the exception of a blender/food processor. Plenty of toilet paper, towels and dish and laundry soap for our weekend! The beds upstairs were very comfortable. The only note for improvement would be cleanliness. The house was clean enough to feel comfortable sleeping in (bedsheets were very clean, toilets and sinks clean) but some areas were dusty, and not as clean and wiped down as they could be. The check in process was so smooth. Lots of communication from the company and door code and wifi password provided beforehand. Overall a great stay and would return.

Breathtaking View

A perfect location. Breathtaking view and comfortable, quiet home. Very grateful that pets are allowed at this property. We had a wonderful time as did our dog. Long stretches of beautiful beach to walk with few other visitors.

Needs cleaned....

The surroundings were beautiful, location was fantastic. The property, unfortunately was NOT clean. There was dog poop in one of the bedrooms and all of our socks and clothing were covered in dog hair from walking around the carpet. Not the worst, but would not stay here again.

Can't Beat the View!

Location, location, location. It is right on the beach and a nice quiet stretch of beachfront that has few people (at least during our stay). The house is appointed well, not opulent but has everything we needed and comfortable bed. This was too much house for just us (and doggo) but was worth the extra due to the beautiful view and sunsets.

Amazing

This home was amazing. Panoramic view of the ocean right on the beach. We enjoyed two days of beautiful weather and two days of gale winds, thunder and lots and lots of rain with a warm fire in the fireplace. Didn't want to leave.

Family time

Comfortable and homelike. Home is roomy and lends itself to family time for dining, playing games, and hanging out together. Ample bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. Kitchen well stocked and enough backup supplies (paper products, laundry and kitchen soaps, and hand soaps). Super close to beach! The picture windows provide constant great view of the ocean. The wrap around decks were nice. We had a wonderful stay. We are planning another time to stay.

La Playa

We left it cleaner than we found it. Grease on things around the stove. Dirty pans needed to be cleaned before we used them. Blender was dirty but we didn’t clean it. Mold in the upstairs bathroom shower. Base boards in house especially behind doors are filthy. Blinds are full of dust. Roll up blinds didn’t work properly and had to be fixed to roll them back up. Urine on floor in around toilet in hall bathroom. Beds were uncomfortably hard. High-end stove was great. Dishwasher was so quiet you could hardly hear it. There is a Light switch that turns off the microwave so not knowing it was NOT a light switch we went without the microwave for a day until we figured it out. The view was great. Access to beach easy. Porches were great but weather didn’t support using them.

Magical location

The house sits right on the beach making it perfect for family time. The quality of appliances made cooking challenging. Stove had two temperatures -hot and off; refrigerator didn’t get cold enough to keep food at healthy temps and leaked. We adapted. Otherwise, it’s a great place.

Amazing view - all you see is the beach and ocean!!

Only surprise was cars are allowed to drive on the beach all the way from Pacific City. Access for cars is not near the house and they are prohibited about a 1/4 mile north of the house on the beach due to snowy plover nesting site protection.

Enchantment by the sea

My wife and I loved our stay at La Playa Luna as did our dog. While the decor is a bit dated, everything was clean and comfortable. The star of the the show is of course the beach right outside the back deck that goes on for miles and miles and for the most part we had all this seaside beauty to ourselves. We will definitely be back next year.
