We have all spent a ton of time in the Sierras but never near Clio and we absolutely loved it! The cabin feels so remote and there are no rear neighbors so you'll have total privacy as you relax on the large deck. Really the whole area feels very remote and way less crowded than anywhere near Shasta or Tahoe--which is especially nice during COVID. We mostly relaxed, played games and cooked at the cabin but there are tons of great hikes, fishing and restaurants very nearby. We especially loved the Brewing Lair Brewery in Blairsden. It's only a few minutes away and is buried in the woods with an expansive property that makes it very easy to spread out. It made for a fun Sunday after a big hike on Saturday. We look forward to going back so we can keep exploring in the area. And the owner, Jami, is lovely and very responsive. Very easy to work with and very responsive to questions. The house is very cool on a great remote lot in the woods. Kids loved playing in the “forest back yard”. Deck is huge and a great space to relax. Just a couple of constructive criticisms. The house seems to be a home the owners live in on a fairly regular basis, but it’d be nice to have the closets and other areas free of personal clothes, coats, and other “stuff”. The house could also use a thorough cleaning and a fresh coat of paint indoors. Lastly, I understand it’s the remote forest, but adding a paved driveway or at least gravel in front of the house would greatly cut down on the very powdery dust that makes it near impossible to keep shoes, clothes, and the inside of the house clean. Cabin was comfortable with nice bar, well stocked kitchen. Beds were comfortable. Only negatives: The driveway is dirt/ gravel so maybe muddy during winter dusty in dry season. Jun 19, 2021 Liked: Check-in, communication, location #### Good bones/needs tlc We liked the look of the cabin(the log cabin) and the location. However, the outside area of the cabin needs to be cleaned up.(lots of piles of stuff and items need to be put away) Inside, it’s nice and plenty of room for the five of us. However, it felt unkempt. Dust, cobwebs and clutter. There was no organization in the kitchen cabinets nor was there any in the bathrooms and other areas. ( the child in the group went to take a bath in the master bath but the jets shot out dirt). The washing machine needs a good cleaning and the lint in the dryers lint trap was alot. The deck had some broken chairs, and a couple of ladders lying around. That’s all the negative. The positive… the umbrella was broken. We called the owner and the next morning another was delivered.
