Sunrise from the front porch is awe inspiring. The previous owner was Francis Woodruff, an heiress to the Coca-Cola fortune. She operated the property as a hang gliding resort and petting zoo. Cows, goats, pigs, chickens, and dogs are raised in the barns below the cabin and welcome your visit. You will be minutes from Lake Burton, Lake Rabun and Lake Seed and only 2 miles to Kingwood Golf Course. You will be only 7 miles from world-class white water rafting & kayaking on the Chatooga River and you will be surrounded by thousands of acres of US Forest Service land. You will find Appalachian crafts & art 3 miles away in downtown Clayton. Enjoy the views of North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee & the Great Smoky Mountains. There is a wide creek and covered bridges in the valley below. Enjoy total privacy upon entering the property via 3 electronic gates. Open living/dining plan with 2 sets of sliding doors open to porch with hammock, swing, picnic table, magnificent mountain views. Fireplace & rock wall in LR, office behind it, 2 sets of washer/dryers, fast wireless internet, high remote controlled windows for year-round breezes. You will have no trouble with access as the wide, paved roads go all the way to the front door which can be accessed by carport ramp or stone steps. A hammock swings from porch beams overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains. This 3,000 sq. ft. cabin has two first floor king-sized bedrooms with private baths. The loft contains a king bed and queen bed and 2-sink bathroom, tub and shower. Drive-In Movie Theater nearby. Your pet is welcome and we do not charge extra for your furry family member. The property was beautiful, the farm animals were fun to watch. We enjoyed the privacy so the kids could talk on the porches, and we loved the fact that the loft was full of beds, so nobody had to feel left out. The kitchen was stocked with a variety of tools and some spices. Plenty to do nearby, quick access to grocery stores and great hiking/swimming. It was so peaceful, private and in a nice location plus watching the farm animals close by from the porch was super — especially for our 5 year old grandson. The owners are quite thoughtful with nice touches like labels for light switches, making coffee available along with a kitchen full of dishes pots and anything needed to cook at home, paper towels and hair dryers, rocking chairs, blankets, all making this a wonderful home. He wanted to stay in a cabin on a farm! This checked every box for the adults and kids. We had fun exploring and seeing all the cows, pigs, chickens and goats! Todd and his wife showed us around the farm and were amazing. We bought farm fresh eggs from them and went to their yummy boiled peanut stand!
