"Being right on the water was amazing. The mattresses on the beds were so very comfortable. One main issue- we all had to share the guest shower. The master shower filled with water and wouldnt drain. The house location was perfect. We did not have to drive up steep hills. We loved this house!"

"I did NOT stay at the property. I booked it because it was listed as 2.2 miles and 5 minutes from the Campbell School, where I was attending a variety of workshops, some in the evenings. I drove up to the cabin - it is up a steep SINGLE-LANE road with sheer drops and constant "S" curves, a 15 mph speed limit that on occasion is optimistic, at best, a few "pullover" spots in case you meet someone coming the opposite direction (which I did going up!), and no place to turn around if you decide you cannot hack the drive. I got to the top, went into the cabin, used the wi-fi to locate a hotel in a nearby Murphy, booked a room there, locked up the cabin and made the drive - no less than TWENTY MINUTES to get to the bottom and a "regular" two-lane road."

"The house was nice, but it could have been cleaner. A few coffee cups in the cabinet were dirty, so I had to wash everything we used first. We paid a cleaning fee and had to strip the beds and start the dishwasher. To reach the river, you have to trek through an overgrown field. The photos make it look different. There is no rope going across the river as indicated in the photo."

"The cabin is spacious, very comfortable, well-equipped. So peaceful here, great for unwinding and naps. Enjoyed sitting by the water and reading. Driveway is not too steep which is a big plus."

"I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the host or the cabin. it is absolutely the cleanest place i have ever stayed...we have stayed twice and Julie is always quick to respond when we have a question. Its close to Murphy but not so close you feel like you are in the city. I would highly recommend Gentle Bens to anyone staying in the area, no regrets. "
