We had an extraordinary time and stay at this hotel. In my experience this hotel merits 5 stars.
Front desk staff made excellent dinner recs. The "grotto" pool in the basement should not be missed. Only negative - the superb roof top bar and lounge charged a small fortune for drinks
(they were excellent , however).
Our room faced the busy road and was obviously very noisy at night . But that aside it was very well situated to access all areas of the city. There was a supermarket across from the hotel which had a good selection of cheap food and drinks which we used to buy provisions for during the day. On our first evening we ate at a street café on Las Ramblas the food was mediocre and the drinks were served in litre glasses which were really too much
we felt cheated at the cost. The fish restaurants in the harbour area were a considerably better eating experience at minimal extra cost. We also spent a day on the beach which was ok and very busy the sand on the beach was more like builders sand and very dusty. Despite the warning about pickpockets we did not feel threatened.
In my opinion the best way to see the city is on one of the tourist buses I would advise a two day ticket so that you do not feel rushed to try and do everything in one day. Overall an enjoyable trip .
We spent a wonderful couple of days here. We were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff who were extremely helpful. The stylish rooms had a palatial feel and were cool and airy. We went with 2 teenage sons and there was ample room for us all. The location was amazing - in the centre of the bustling gothic quarter - everything was at our fingertips. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to experience a true taste of this beautiful city.
This hotel is conveniently close to La Ramblas. The hotel was clean with air con and a fridge - just what you need when it's a warm day. Lovely views and pool on the roof. The reception staff were nice and helpful if we asked any questions.
I can't say enough about this hotel! There are so many reason but primarily it's the staff that make this hotel such a gem! They are welcoming, informative, helpful, not too mention hip! We arrived to delicious welcome drinks in a luxurious but not "uppity" setting. The hotel itself rests on a main street in Barcelona however while inside it is quiet and serene. Then you walk out the door on to one of the most bustling areas of the city with the Aquarium and Maremagnum directly across the street. Walking distance 5 minutes to Las Ramblas also. Back to the people--in every corner of the hotel, you will find welcoming and friendly staff to help you out. Daniel was the best! I don't know what his exact title was but he did every bring from opening doors to making dinner reservations to the best and most unique places. A big CHEERS to this hotel! You will NOT be disappointed!

Barcelona's Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city's medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don't miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.
