A good choice.
We enjoyed our stay. While we were in a basic room under the eaves, we had access to a wonderful rooftop terrace with great views. We enjoyed watching a concert down in the plaza below and ate our dinner there. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and the hotel location was convenient to shops, restaurants and the beach. Levanto was a great place to stay with easy access by train to the Cinque Terra. A really relaxing way to end our 3 week tour through Italy.

Charming hotel in best location in Levanto
Charming & centrally well located hotel. Clean room and great service. Five minutes from the beach or the train station a great way to commute to 5Terre. Breakfast at the beautiful garden which we enjoyed our cappuccino or espresso. The Staff are always smiling, welcoming and ready to serve. Surrounded by many restaurants and shops makes it the perfect location to be in Levanto.

Ditch the car and enjoy the great location.
Conscientious and helpful staff made this a very nice stay. A little patience is needed since the front desk is not always staffed, but they are cheerful and eager to help. Breakfast buffet was good. Beach towels available for free. We were grateful that the room had AC since we visited during a heat wave. The mattress was a little on the stiff side. We understood from our booking that paid parking was available, though the details were only made clear after we arrived: Euro 7,20/ day for a public lot about 7 blocks away, or Euro 18/day for a private garage that was very safe and nearby, but required advanced warning for key access if the car was needed. We went for the more expensive option, since it turned out that we could walk to everything we needed (and the public lot was full).

Great to stay outside of crazy busy Monterosso
Lovely hotel very, very close to beach about a short 2 blocks. They have bikes you can use and ride around town and to other towns (keep in mind it’s a lot of hills) but it’s a lovely half day ride around. Roof top Terrance was great for drinks at happy hour time to unwind. All the ladies that run this hotel are very gracious hosts, highly recommend them. Shower is a little on the small side but it’s Europe so understandable. We will definitely be back and recommend to friends!

100% recommend
We stayed at Nazionale in Levanto for 2 nights and had an excellent experience! The location is ideal... close to all the stores and restaurants, short walk to the train, and a 3 minute walk to the beach!! The breakfast in the garden is incredible (the best we had in our 9 days in Italy!). The rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff is so accommodating and eager to assist.

Nice, comfortable hotel
Levanto is a perfect location to stay while visiting the Cinque Terre towns. Good restaurants located in close vicinity to hotel. Hotel has a nice patio for the continental breakfast. Hotel is located 10-15 min walk from the train station and is close to the beach.

Great service and location. The breakfast setup needs improvement. The Hotel should hard boil the eggs for the customers and should install a coffee machine that allows various choices for coffee.

breakfast made unnecessarily difficult!!
we were very pleased with our room, hotel location and excellent staff service. the only disappointment was that at breakfast tea/coffee are not served at your table and the cups for tea/coffee were so small, one had to make sevearl trips to the breakfast bar to top up the tea/coffee. my poor cousin had to make six visits to the breakfast bar just to get his morning coffee intake!! like most hotels, this one needs to start bringing pots of tea/coffee to the guest's table to make it a better breakfast experience.

Friendly, family-run hotel
Charming small family-run hotel conveniently located to train station and to beach. We were able to borrow bikes from the hotel and have a pleasant ride along the coast. Really nice breakfast in a pleasant garden setting, too.

Great base for visiting Cinque Terre
Levanto is a very pleasant town, and much quieter than any of the Cinque Terre towns; this was quite a relief! The hotel is well maintained and well located within Levanto. All of the staff I encountered were very helpful. Rooms at the front of the hotel may experience noise from the street, but this is much the same as other Meditteranean locations; I always pack earplugs!

Room had what you could barely call a window. Bare bones type of place. The staff was lovely and eager to help. Great location in Levanto.

Perfect location
Lovely and elegant the hotel is located in the very center of Levanto: few minutes walk from the beach, near all the best restaurants and bars and only 10 minutes from the train station. All the staff were helpful and very friendly and the room very spacious and clean. It's an authentic Italian family run hotel and we loved it :-). Thank you

A lovely traditional Italian hotel
Lovely hotel in a traditional Italian town (Levanto). Smallish hotel about 30 bedrooms but very close (without the noise) to the main street of shops and restaurants and about a 7 minute walk to the beach. The hotel breakfasts were served either inside or outside in the garden terrace, which we chose every day. Breakfast consisted of cheese, ham, toast cakes, cereal, croissants and fruit (apparently in Italy the breakfast is usually very basic ie just rolls and drinks?!) ) so this was a bonus! This is TRADITIONAL Italy so no English papers and noise! It is quite expensive in Italy though. We took a train from Genova to Levanto (1 hr intercity) and cost 9 euros each. I would have preferred to have taken a taxi from the airport to the hotel (about 50 miles) BUT I was quoted £360!!!!! return for a taxi. This was dearer than the cost of the flight!! Italy would appear to be a big rip off for taxis (and I was travelling with an Italian friend!) They go by numbers in the car not the journey. So on that basis we steered away from them. The train journey was however very pleasant. Levanto is also very close to Cinque Terre. If you like "chocolate box" towns by the sea (bar 1 village) then this is the place you MUST go to. You can get a 1 day pass Cinque Terre for around £12.00 - £14.00 but this does give you all day travel. Or if you are feeling brave (and there were a lot of walkers) you could do the hike instead! Definitely would recommend both the hotel, Leanto and Cinque Terre.

Nice centrally located hotel
Marina and the other hotel staffers were very kind and helpful. Hotel is located close to historic center of town, beach and restaurants. There is a supermarket located directly behind the hotel. One drawback - can hear the local nightlife in rooms on the street side of the hotel. In general the town of Levanto is ideal for exploring the Cinque Terre hiking trails. There is a beautiful coastal trail from Levanto into Monterosso which doesn't require the Cinque Terre hiking pass.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at hotel nazionale. Easy walk to the train station as well as the beach and hiking trails. The roof top is perfect for enjoying a drink. Great staff, breakfast buffet and clean rooms.

Lovely hotel, great central location. Both front desk and housekeeping personnel excellent. Glad we chose Levanto over Cinque Terre for lodging, and glad we chose Hotel Nazionale. Good shower on size, water pressure, hot water, and water not getting on bathroom floor. After first night decided to upgrade to very lovely spacious room with a view, but was relatively pricey for Levanto. Hotel parking very expensive. Many focaccia places in Levanto, best we found is at Piazza Staglieno 37, a 5-minute walk away, around the corner from Cafe del Mar. Great whole grain as well as array of traditional. Nice owner/chief baker.

Nice hotel in Levanto
Nice stay at the hotel, good location. Can walk to everything, including train station. The breakfast buffet was good. Hotel has inside living room for sitting, indoor and garden seating for breakfast. Rooms are small, but that is common in Italy small towns.

Large room, great A/C, and friendly service!
For three of us, we got a pretty large room with two singles and a double. Our favorite part was the A/C because it kept the room very cold during the hot summer days we were in Rome. Our 9 year old loved the complimentary slippers. Breakfast was nice. You could order fresh squeezed Orange Juice. The room was not dark as we had read in earlier complaints. The walls were bright yellow and the room was well-lit. The park across the street wasn't the most desirable, but we didn't select the hotel because we planned to "play" there.
