" Unfortunately we didn’t get any check in instructions, so we had to call them to send a guy to check us in. He didn’t speak a word of english, so the information was rather lacking. He tried, via google translate to tell us he would clean the rooms.. but in the end we had to ask for it… that ment ‘making our beds’ but not cleaning the floor or taking out the trash or restocking toiletpaper, etc. Also the shower cabin was so small, thet it would only fit a child. "It’s a beautiful small property with a very cool design. Fairly rustic though and with a bit of a farmhouse feel and therefore maybe not for everyone. Managers and owners Giacomo and Paola are both fantastic. Giacomo in particular was a superstar, passionately speaking about the wines of the winery and the region, giving us great restaurant recommendations and really going above and beyond with a smile. "We enjoyed our short but very sweet night at Palazzo Privatera. We arrived on the heels of Cyclone Henry, so much of the town was shut down, but our host Alfio was extremely insightful and helpful. He showed us around this mideivel treasure, hosted a wonderful breakfast, and made our stay so comfortable! Wish we would have had more time to enjoy the amazing property and town, but hope to return in the future to enjoy more of Mt Etna’s beauty and vineyards!"

"Außergewöhnliche Villa mit tollem Grundriss. Sehr viel Privatsphäre, da mitten in der Natur. Der Pool ist groß und tief. Die Aussicht auf die Hügel und das Meer ist traumhaft. Was die Innnenausstattung angeht: es war alles da. Besonders gefallen hat uns, dass es reichlich Handtücher/Badetücher gab. Die Alcantara Schlucht ist nur 5 min. Autofahrt entfernt und unbedingt sehenswert. Das Wasser in der Schlucht ist ziemlich kühl, was im Sommer eine Wohltat ist. Ein Mietauto ist ein Muss, da das nächste Dorf - mit Restaurants, Supermärkten, Bäckereien - nicht zu Fuß erreichbar ist. War für uns auch eine ideale Ausgangslage zum Vulkan Ätna. Fazit: Eine wunderbare Lage & ein beeindruckendes Haus."

Grande piscine avec belle vue. Nature luxuriante autour de la maison. Chemin d’accès à la maison qui monte sec et détérioré."

"My husband and I have just returned from a truly unforgettable trip to Sicily, where we stayed in this beautiful villa on a small farm in Francavilla. The villa itself was stunning—spotlessly clean and full of charm.From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the owners, Antonio and Maria, with a generous gift of wine, meats, and cheeses. We were also invited to pick fresh fruit and vegetables straight from the farm, which made our stay feel even more special.Antonio and Maria are two of the kindest, most gracious people we’ve ever met. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their daughters were equally warm and loving. We quickly became dear friends with the family.One of the highlights of our trip was when Antonio, despite his busy schedule, took time to personally show us around Francavilla and share its beautiful sights.We wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful little hideaway—with its lovely pool and heartfelt hospitality—to anyone visiting Sicily.Thank you, Antonio, Maria, and your beautiful girls, for your incredible generosity and kindness. "What a relaxing week! We had a wonderful time at this villa. The pool, garden and outside eating spaces were fantastic - with wonderful views. Cottage allowed us to experience authentic ‘cosy’ Italian living - with a welcome of water, beer and aperol spritz! Claudia and her family were so lovely and helpful. The area is stunning (gorge and mountains) and really enjoyed local restaurants such as the Alcantara Bistrot (Gaggi) and I sapori dell' Alcantara ex trattoria del corso. We did a great cooking course in Taormina and enjoyed a trip to Syracusa. All in all a fantastic trip and would definitely return. Thank you Claudia!! "

"We (10 people including family/friends & children) had a fantastic stay at this Relais de Placa! The villa was absolutely gorgeous and beautifully maintained, with all the amenities we could ask for, making it a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. The pool and grounds are beautiful, and the bedrooms are spacious, each with their own ensuite. The kitchen was a cook's dream, and we made some wonderful meals to eat out on the big table in the garden.Carmelo, the owner clearly cares a lot about his guests and the property, which is wonderful. Sometimes, he would drop by or check in — a sign of his attentiveness, though it’s worth noting if you prefer more privacy. He helped us book transport to a winery, and also U Pacciu, the best meat restaurant in the area. It's definitely worth a visit if you are carnivores like us!There were quite a few guidelines to keep in mind, but overall, an amazing stay. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a lush,well-equipped home away from home."
