Talked to front desk staff, they said the whole central system is not on no matter how low I set the temperature to. I need to open the window in order to sleep but outside is super noisy and I need to put ear plugs in order for me to sleep. I got hot when I put on the blanket and cold when I didn’t during the night. I catch a cold at the end. The location is close to bus station, but a little bit far from the train station. A lot of street food and night market just off the street. Close to the shopping center tho. Public transportation is available but you need to walk; eg 10-15 mins walk to the nearest metro station at the Shin Kong place, at Jiazhou station. Incidentally, Shin Kong place is a beautiful shopping and food complex, which is worth a visit. The front desk speaks little English but I suggest they can improve by having better knowledge of their local area. The room is clean and bright but the carpet (colour) makes it look tired. It is a good basic western style hotel.The front desk does speak a little English. If you can speak a little Mandarin or are with someone who does, it makes a big difference.
