We got there after 5:30 which was a bad idea. In winter it was already pitch black and the walk from the bus stop to the hotel is uphill and very challenging with luggage. I don’t even know how we did it! Hotel itself is pretty good. Breakfast and dinner provided, bathrobes provided and you can wear to dinner, onsen open 24 hours. No view in the room but you’re close to the gorgeous lake. Small eats around town are amazing, cream puff, pork bowl 豚井, potato mochi... Be ware of the black crows; they’re very aggressive if you have food exposed in a plate! Go to 丸驹温泉 via shuttle bus (ask hotel front desk to arrange it for you), super worth it!
