The town is old school but fun and quirky. Not much to it though so dont go expecting a lot. Very good food in town. Shuttle makes things easy. The decor reflected the town's history and each room was decorated accordingly. They were upfront about things like a shared bathroom and no outlets in the rooms. It was a little cold upstairs since that floor does not have heaters in the rooms but they gave us extra blankets. For us, these things were issues and it was fun to socialize w/the other guests while charging up our electronics. The WiFi worked great as did the transportation. Everyone was helpful and it was easy to get around town. Thats when we found Ma Johnson's Hotel! Absolutely fantastic!! It was like stepping into a time warp and going back in time. And McCarthy is not to be missed! What a cool little town. We stayed 3 nights at Ma's and enjoyed every minute. We were able to walk to a glacier, took the mine tour and went flightseeing, all of which Irecommend highly!! Sharing bathroom was no big deal since everyone was so nice and became like family. No elevator but there are first floor rooms.
