13 miles from Taylors Falls at Interstate Park and just south of downtown Chisago City, THE GABLES is an ideal destination for gatherings of family or friends. We invite you to enjoy our private beach & dock, new Jacuzzi Hot Tub, vaulted ceilings, two fireplaces, high-speed Wifi and three dedicated work spaces. With three distinct sleeping areas, it is easy to gather multiple families together here!

Come to retreat, ski, hike, swim, shop, paddle, bike, wed, rest, work, race, snow shoe, & wine taste.

THE GABLES is on Green Lake, one of seven lakes in chain of Chisago Lakes. The house sits on the isthmus between Green Lake and Chisago Lake. The house's private dock and beachfront are on Little Green, the northern quieter portion of Green Lake, which connects to Big Green through a large channel. The public boat access for Green Lake is a few hundred yard down the road from the house.

Situated across Little Green Lake from Winehaven Winery, we are blocks from Chisago's lively Stone Inn and our local brewery, the Uncommon Loon. Down Highway 8 you can find clusters of antique stores, the fabulous Northeast Roasters, Lindström Bakery's brilliant Swedish donuts, and the family-owned grocer Brinks.

Just a block to east of THE GABLES, guests can find a paved bike path along Old Town Road into downtown Chisago. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, easily walkable.

Family Time
We live in the southern suburbs of Minneapolis, so it only took an hour to get to this property. Yet--we felt further away. Great small town, walked to coffee shop, went to playground, grocery store close by. The house was perfect. Large enough that we could spread out, lot is beautiful, backyard with hot tub, Solo stove, dock, kayaks, paddleboard, screen room were all used alot. We would definitely recommend this property. Owners were very responsive and helpful.

Beautiful Views from a Clean, Comfortable Home
My friends and I made the short drive up from the Cities for a weekend away and could not have been more pleased with our stay at Zach and Betsy’s home. The house itself was clean and spacious—everyone (two couples, two singles) had their own space if they needed a minute to themselves. The details—from ample linens and phone chargers in every room to the coffee maker and French press to the board games—were immaculate. I fully recommend The Gables for a getaway!

Perfect Setting and Wonderful Hosts
We had an amazing family vacation at your lake house. There was lots of space to spread out, but also to gather together for games or meals. The lake access was great and the lake itself was perfect for boating and tubing. The family also enjoyed hanging out in the hot tub after a day on the lake. The owners have thought of every detail and the quality of linens, decor and amenities was beyond what we expected. Thank you and we will be back next year!

We had two first timers for catching fish (3 year old and his father. 3 year old just would put his rod in the water and out came fish. Dad too caught right of the dock. Great time having all our grandchildren and families all in a place that was perfect. Plenty of private areas the way the bath and bedrooms are set up. Memories made.

Stunning lake home!
What a great home, and so close to the Cities! The house is very large, with seating areas both on the main floor as well as the lower level, not to mention the great screened porch out the back. The kitchen was large and very well equipped, the bathrooms were stocked with towels, shampoo and body wash. The four bedrooms are very spacious, and the bedding in each was very elegant with plenty of pillows and high-end sheets. The patio outside on the lake side was very nice, and the gas grill was clean and also quite large. Oh, did I mention the lake? Very nice view of the water from the house, the screened porch, the patio, the seating area down by the water - and the dock is great for tying up a boat or jet ski. The house is just a few blocks from Chisago City and just a few miles from Lindstrom and Taylors Falls. Lots to see and do nearby! Communication with the host was terrific - we had a few minor questions and they got back to us immediately with the answers. The peaceful setting was interrupted only by the sounds of birds and the chatter of squirrels. Definitely recommend!

Great home with an even better view!
The property was amazing and you can't beat the view from the upstairs windows. Everything was clean and in order and the amenities were fantastic. Even coffee to help us get started in the morning. The host communicated effectively and left notes and information all throughout the home. Definitely a perfect get away for a nice family get together!

Amazing lake house with everything you need!
This spot was SO perfect for my family, we had the best weekend! The listing is spot on with all the amenities and the hosts were overly nice and communicative, they checked in on us throughout the stay to make sure we had everything we needed. It was myself, my husband, our 2.5 year old son and our 4 month old daughter. There were toys (including a whole chest of dress up items!) for our son to play with inside and beach toys to play in the sand. We fished, swam, and jumped off the dock into the sandy lake. The kitchen was fully stocked with all items needed to cook meals and the grill and firepit were great, too! We watched the sunset from the dock and enjoyed the screened in porch in the evenings. We are already planning our next trip back because this property was so great for us! I would highly recommend to anyone including those with little kiddos.

Beautiful Family Lake House
The Gables on Green Lake is a wonderful big house for a dream vacation! We enjoyed every minute. Lovely porches for lounging and great dock for swimming or fishing. The house is well stocked with almost every kitchen item and bath item you could ever need. Great location with every store and boat access you’d need close by. The description tells you perfectly what is available in the home. The owners are very quick to respond as well. I will definitely consider staying here again!

Wonderful Family Time
We rented this lovely house over Memorial Day weekend for our kids and grandkids (6 adults, 2 two years old and one infant). There was room to spread out, play, sleep, cook, play cards. We played a little in the yard and also took several walks. We also went to the park less than a mile away to take advantage of the great playground equipment and small beach. There is a paddle board we did not use, we are more inclined to kayak/canoe which we could have rented close by I believe. It was also quite windy. We had everything we needed to cook, our only suggestion was a few Tupperware pieces to help us keep leftovers. Communication was easy, the house was well equipped, comfortable, and clean. We felt at home. Thanks again for sharing your place!

Gables on Green Lake Family Getaway
We loved staying at the Gables on Green Lake! Our favorite parts of the experience and home: taking in the most amazing sunsets through their HUGE windows overlooking the lake, cooking and entertaining in the well-stocked kitchen with an awesome breakfast nook, and enjoying the books, games, and toys - fun for all ages. This home is perfect for the whole family to spread out. The hosts Zach and Betsy are wonderful, responsive, and thoughtful. They know the best cafes, sledding hills, and even had sleds and starter snowboards for us to use. Highly recommend this for an enjoyable winter retreat!
