Would stay again
Stayed recently for work for a few days,very welcoming,nice and comfy and clean which is all you can ask for ,only ate once in the bar but the food was very good

Not great, ended up having 2 neighbours snoring there heads off, as the walls are so thin- that needs updating as I got 0 sleep, not easy being heavily pregnant.

The hotel looks lovely on the outside, plenty of parking. There was no one on reception when I arrived, after a few minutes the receptionist booked me in but asked for payment immediately which threw me, the room was up a flight of stairs very narrow and I struggled with my case and laptop, the room was really basic, but the bathroom was better. I didn't eat or drink there, in the morning I had to move some signs put in place to stop people parking there out of the way to exit, it was around 7.15am - not an issue but would have been for an elderly guest.

Hi you don’t elaborate but my guess is that there was a lot of noise from the room next door. The person in the next room had a car accident earlier in the evening. He was brought back to the house by a good Samaritan and he felt fine but a little shocked and went to bed. During the night he had neck pains and called the emergency service for some advice, as it was to do with the neck, they sent an ambulance crew who got me out of bed at 2.30 to let them in. The crew 2 ladies decided to take the patient to hospital to have it checked out. They left about ¾ of an hour later. The guest arrived back at around 5 and I let him back in. He managed to have a bite to eat but then we let him go back to bed and he left much later in the day.

Comfortable room and a good breakfast!
Comfortable room, however; the shower could have had more water pressure! Pleasant waitresses at breakfast and a good breakfast it was too!

Hi Anonymous Sorry that your room was not satisfactory. WE do have a few rooms that are waiting to be renovated. I can't tell which room you were in so not able to say if it is the next or not. Our pricing structure takes into consideration VAT commissions the new living wage. pensions laundry casts heating, lighting. Many thanks for you comments they have been discussed at great length. Hotel heading in the right direction
lovely old building with renovation in progress .... Menu food was expensive with fish and chips with hardly any fish sad to say .... but there was a very friendly atmosphere and enjoyed the short stay

HI. Many thanks for your review. Sorry about the fish I have just been informed that the quality is not what it should be and have spoken to the supplier. WE are constantly doing work on the House and its niece to see that it is noticed.

Ignore the frontage and bedrooms, concentrate on t
Ignore the state of the room and exterior and concentrate on the service and food.....you will NEVER receive service like it! Almost 40 years of traipsing the world and this out does it all. Chris is working hard on getting the hotel up to scratch. He's a way off and yet I would still return because of the staff!!!!

Thanks you Simon we are getting there and yes the staff do work hard. We are stepping up the refurb this year but there is always something when an old building like this is not looked after properly. It helps tremendously when we have constructive comments like yours. Many many thnaks

Quiet charming village hotel / bar / restuarant
Booked late so arrived late evening but was greeted with warm welcome. Comfortable bed, great breakfast. Shower was cold initially, but was sorted out very efficiently by the owner.

Hi Lee Thank you for your kind comments. We have now got a new pump for the water to get to the rooms much quicker and have discovered through one of our guests shower units from New Zealand which help with the low water pressure in this area. Kind regards Chris

Lovely village
We only used the Hotel as a stop off, the staff where very friendly, the hotel was very close to where we where visiting, which was appropriate for us as we had 2 young children's with us. We did find it a little noisey late at night, but fortunately we where tired enough to sleep. Only had room only.

Over night stay.
Lovely village to stay close to M4. Food good and served real ale. The night we stayed the Hotel had a shortage of staff which we were told was unexpected. The water pressure affected the water heat control which made showering impossible. Used bath instead. Overall experience was OK but felt it could have been better. I know the water pressure was out of the owners control but nevertherless it did affect our stay.

Dear anonymous many thanks for your feedback. we do apologise for the shortage of staff illness and holidays do affect us more this time of the year. As for the water pressure we are looking into pumps but find that they are so noisy and disturb other guests, but I am sure that with a little more hunting we will find something to sort out the problem. Fit for purpose of our 3 day visit to Badminton HT
Comfortable beds, clean throughout, fluffy towels, hot water, delicious breakfast. No silly signage everywhere that you get in corporate hotels and bed and breakfast places. Still requiring more refurbishment. Bar area in both evenings had a good happy atmosphere. Shame the prices go up at that Badminton Horse Trials weekend but that happens all over that area.

Good Value for money excellent breakfast
The hotel is an old building with sloping floors but it is very clean and I had a very comfortable bed. Good Wifi, plenty of hot water I found it quiet as well. Staff very good but busy. I didn't eat in the restaurant as it was full so it may be worth booking if you want to eat there otherwise there is another pub and restaurant in the village which weren't as busy I can only assume as it was so busy the food in the restaurant must be good (breakfast was excellent).

Room had very tired decor, dirty carpets. There was a noisy running tap and shower which could not be turned off. This kept me awake even with the bathroom door closed. Then no hot water for a bath or a shower in the morning

Great stay at the Bell House Hotel.
Very impressed with friendliness of staff at check in and the bar and food service. Food was wholesome and delicious both for the evening meal and breakfast. Location great as a stop over and minutes from the M4. If you want a nice friendly place to stay this is ideal.

Great Food nice room, slow service.
This is a Pub/Hotel. The staff that checks you in also runs the Pub. If the Pub is busy expect to wait a long time to get a room. We waited 20 minutes, which when you are tired and looking forward to the room can seem like an eternity. The food was good with generous portions, the rooms was large and comfortable.

On arrival the owner explained that he had been trying to get hotels.com to change the listing which says the hotel is pet friendly. He kindly accepted we brought our dog in good faith and made an exception however please change the listing for future guests
