Looking for the perfect lake view vacation home, Sandy Moose is it! This home is located in Oyster Bay II and is sure to please the whole family! Enjoy a day at the beach then sit back and enjoy the water-views of Mallard Pond from the screened in porch. Newly remodeled with granite counter tops and Pergo flooring. Home has security camera under the house directed towards the pond.

Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will receive 100% of refund  of all monies minus $ 39 Processing Fee and Any Credit Card Convenience Fees Paid.  If less then 30 days: the advanced rent is only refundable subject to the following: The property is re-rented for the same period. Re-rental of less than a full week will be refunded on a pro-rated basis. The Agent will retain a $39.00 processing charge and any convenience fees charged. *Deposits are not refunded for ANY reason (including bad weather).

The house needs a work. Floor tiles were broken, it was dusty, and the furniture could use an update or a cleaning. We couldn't get some of the appliances to work, but a replacement toaster was brought to us quickly when I emailed about the problem. The house is in a good location, it has a nice view.

We thought this was a wonderful place to stay, one of the better rentals we’ve had. It’s one of the more private rentals on the island. So we didn’t feel so close to neighbors at all. The house was all clean other than the floors were still a little sandy from the previous renters. They did have a vacuum and broom to sweep it up. Everything was well stocked throughout the house. Towels and bedding were included. There was plenty of towels but only enough washcloths that it wasn’t even two per person, so we had to do a few loads of towels/washcloths to make sure there was enough for our family of 5. You do need to take your own laundry soap. If you have an infant, I noticed a pack n play in the cleaning closet when we were packing up to leave. They had children’s plates and cups there too. They had smart tvs and a gaming system there. If you have any babies that are used to dark rooms, keep in mind that all the rooms are very bright when it’s daylight, incase you need to take darkening travel curtains. We are about 5-6 minutes from Maddox blvd, which has all the stores. It was a great stay and I would definitely pick this rental again. Hopefully this review helps! We had a toddler and baby and it was a great place for them, the enclosed porch was so nice too, cuz the kids could go out there if they didn’t want to be inside. Outside, there’s even room to kick around a ball with the children if you’d like. There was also a herd of geese that kept visiting us!

A perfect spot

I fell in love with Chincoteague years ago and always wanted to visit for more than a day so I invited my son and family for a weeks vacation! We relished each tranquil day gathering on the screened in back porch visiting and enjoying the backyard wildlife. It was the perfect spot to entertain my 2.5 year old granddaughter!! Hope to make this an annual event.

Memorial day vacation

Came down and checked in mid week. Was nice to find a property that allowed a Wed-Wed stay, as to avoid holiday traffic. Property was in a great location, quiet neighborhood. Tile flooring could use an overhaul and front door lock needs replacing. Maintenance men showed up to replace air filters and we were not notified. Had I not gone to the door, they were going to come in. They thought our car was the cleaning crew. Lawncare service showed up before 8a on Monday, which was Memorial Day, and woke us up. Communication from the rental company would have been appreciated. Other than that, nice property and would stay there again if we decide to return.

Wonderful stay

We loved this house and had a wonderful week. The house is very comfortable. I would warn about 2 very minor things: 1. The AC doesn't work great. We were comfortable but needed fans. 2. The king bed was a very hard mattress and I ended up sleeping in the room with the twin beds instead because I have back and neck problems. Neither of these should dissuade anyone from renting but are just things I would have wanted to know ahead of time. Overall we loved the house and would definitely recommend it.

Clean and comfy

Great place. Clean and comfy. Video "console" was a hit with the boys. Screened in porch and our various wildlife neighbors were a treat. Only 2 things I would improve = more adequate lighting in the kitchen for cooking and remove the foil in the bottom of the oven (covering the heating elements and does not allow even and proper cooking).

Everything we had hoped for!

We enjoyed our first visit to Chincoteague and having a nice place to stay was a plus. The house had everything you needed. Plenty of kitchen items, books, games and puzzles for the kids, movies, etc. We practically lived on the screened-in porch. My husband, his sister and I were there mainly for birdwatching and nature. This location was perfect for that. So many birds including a pair of great-horned owls who visited the trees in the immediate area. We could hear them vocalizing almost every night and managed to find them a few times. Also had some deer that occasionally stopped by in the backyard. My husband would put birdseed on the deck railing to attract the birds but we also had a raccoon that showed up every night to finish off the seed. We were very happy with our week stay at the Sandy Moose!

A wonderful Chincoteague get away!

My husband and I stayed at Sandy Moose for a week. It’s our first time vacationing at Chincoteague. We enjoyed everything that Sandy Moose had to offer: a quite neighborhood but also a few minutes away from the park and everything else, master suite is ideally located away from other two bedrooms with comfortable king size bed, nice screened deck (the swinging chair is my favorite) for morning coffee and afternoon reading, plenty books and games at the house for everyone to enjoy. This was a worry-free and very relaxing vacation. We rented bikes, beach chairs and umbrella at Bike Depot, convenient location and good service. We enjoyed hiking, biking, relaxing at the beach. Thank you for sharing the Sandy Moose with us. We will definitely come back!

Cozy, Beachy and Peaceful

I'm glad that it lived up to previous reviews. Our daughters declared the Sandy Moose as their new "happy place". They enjoyed the arcade-style video games and the hammock chair on the back porch. We all loved watching the birds swooping on the lake. My husband and I liked having our master on the opposite side of the house and partitioned away. If you're a bedtime book reader, you might find the minimal bedroom lighting (all bedrooms) to be a challenge. The Sandy Moose is in a good location. Don't miss going to Assateague to see the wild horses and spend time on the beach. It was easy to distance ourselves on the beach, during the pandemic. Remember to bring effective mosquito repellent.
