"Leider war das Zimmer (Junior Suite) nicht sauber. Zwar war das Personal stehts um Sauberkeit bemüht, hat aber nicht geholfen. Eigentlich schade, da ich von den Riviera Hotels was anderes gewohnt bin. Und ja, leider stimmt es, wenn man ein Zimmer zur Strassenseite hat ist der Lärm unerträglich. Leider geht der Lärm bis spät in die Nacht und beginnt schon ab 5 Uhr. Wenig Schlaf is da vorprogramiert. Meiner Ansicht nach sollte das Hotel darauf achten, das die Suiten nicht zur Strasse...

"One night stay on the way to colca canyon. Hotel is in historic centre, 10min walk to plasa the armas. Even closer are some bars and restaurants with good music and food. Room was small but clean, breakfast excellent, staff helpful and pleasant. Perfect for several nights in arequipa. Recommended. a"

![I chose to visit this beautiful, colourful, and fascinating building for my birthday, and I was not disappointed.  Built in 1579/1580, and at one point inhabited by around 450 nuns and their servants, this sprawling complex is deceptively large inside. We spent an entire afternoon exploring its maze of rooms, cloisters and cobbled streets.  It's situated centrally within historic Arequipa and costs 35 soles to enter.  Bring a camera and plenty of space on your memory card! ![There's a ton of plaza de armas in south America.  But the one in Arequipa, Peru is the most magnificent.  It's built out of sillar, a white stone made out of volcanic material commonly found in the area. "Exceptional room. Amazing staff. Excellent wifi and breakfast. The location on Plaza de Armas can’t be beat. So walkable. We loved our stay! We had one hiccup. We asked for early check-in. Reception said none was available. Upon arriving at approximately 5:30 AM after a 16 hour overnight bus ride, we asked again. Reception said they could store our bags. Check-in was 1pm. Then they said for $50 USD we could check in early. We declined and stored our bags. We went for breakfast with fellow travellers. All were able to check in early for free at their hotels. When we returned from breakfast around 9am and asked to wait on the terrace, we were informed our room was ready and our luggage was in it. We were very, very happy and booked a few more nights. "

"The room was dirty, and had a bad smell. The breakfast was terrible not at all how it appears in the photographs. The location is far from everything. When I checked in they tried to charge a 28% tax wasn’t stated anywhere on the reservation. They said every hotel does this and the percent fluctuates depending on what they want to charge. I called Expedia and they made it right. Better places to stay in Arequipa. "
