Not up to Wyndham Grand Standards
Overall, I found the hotel to be very good, however, there were items that bugged me and which I considered not up to Wyndham Grand standards. When I checked in I let them know that I was a + Gold Expedia member so they supposedly gave me an upgrade to a river view room. Then they went and stuck me in a room next to the elevator shafts so I could hear the roar of the elevators and the ding-ding of the bells all night. Didn't consider that an upgrade at all. Just an excuse to get an undesirable room occupied. Inside the room there were very dim (40 watt?) LED bulbs in all the lamps so I had to turn all four of them on in the room to be able to read or see much of anything after dark. The room was still very dark. I realize they are a "Green" hotel but there should be a limit when it comes to customer convenience. At least the bathroom had sufficient lighting but I hated the waterfall shower fixture. No pressure. When I first got to the room and went to store my valuables in the safe, it wouldn't lock. Kept getting an error. I called down to the desk and it took them 45 minutes to send someone there with four new AA batteries to get the thing working again. Their restaurant is a joke. Bad food and way overpriced. If you want a much cheaper and better breakfast go to the Corner Bakery Cafe on the corner. All in all, not up to the Wyndham Grand standards for me. I liked the hotel much better when it was the Hotel 71 before Wyndham got their hands on it.
