Voted best top ten neighborhood in the United States. Close to Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village and Bucktown. The space is read the reviews! There is FREE street parking. This amazing space right in the heart of Ukrainian Village + West Town not far from Wicker Park. Large Kitchen with island, dishwasher, oven, microwave and all the kitchen stuff you need! The bathroom is large with a clawfoot tub. The bedroom has large french doors that separate rooms. The bed is a brand new memory foam mattress. There is also a convertible couch to accompany more guests. In the backyard are amazing japanese maples, a grill, and smoker. This is a common area for all guests. The neighborhood is very safe and close to shopping and tons of restaurants. This area is considered the most hip and trendy in Chicago. The metra is only 3 blocks away {8 minutes to downtown} and you can hop on the CTA Bus {Chicago and Grand} and go straight downtown. Divvy bikes on the corner of Chicago and Damen & Grand and Damen. Our place isn't called iKlektik House for nothing! We decorate with our artwork along with co-workers and friends. Definitely has a style of it's own. Keyless entry. We will send personal keycode and instructions on how to access the apartment a week prior to check in date. Private entrance. Full access to backyard with grill and smoker! Feel free to lounge in the hammock under the pergola. We love interacting with our guests. Feel free to come to the backyard and have a drink with us! Free Street Parking out front! The street parking right in front of the building was a great perk. We absolutely loved the neighborhood! We arrived about 6PM on Halloween and the whole neighborhood was decorated and it seemed everyone was participating. It was so magical!! We chatted with the neighbors as we wandered through the street and everyone was so friendly we ended up with quite a few treats in our pockets and doing shots with the neighbors! There was a wonderful local tavern as well as a lot of food and drink options within walking distance. Easy access to locations we visited; Soldier Field, Millennium Park and Navy Pier. We've had knee and hip replacements which made the shower a challenge. Fortunately, the owners thought of everything and had a small step stool in the bathroom. Parking on the street was easy, the place was clean, and neighborhood felt safe. The nearby conservatory at Humboldt park was nice for a quiet and affordable outing. This place was pretty close to United Center, but maybe not walking distance. We used rental bikes one night, but then the docking station was full, so drove each other night and found free parking in Levitz/Madison area (search for Madison Ave PNC and you’ll get there). The only issue we had was they didn't switch the lock number so we were locked out at 11 PM in Chicago which made us nervous. Very accommodating hosts! Everything explained and recommendations offered. This is a very old home and the floor will creak and you will hear upstairs noise but nothing that we had any issue with. Just understand before you book, this is a cool old house that has been fixed up very nice. We liked it! One thing of note is the claw foot tub and shower curtain in the bathroom. The tub is awesome but does require a bit of balance to shower so if you have any issue with mobility I would want you to take note. The kitchen is well equipped and stocked. Great neighborhood with several excellent Ukrainian restaurants such as Tryzub, convenient Italian deli on the corner with delicious sandwiches and cookies, and Ann's Bakery is so much more than a bakery - a grocery store very much like those found in Ukraine! Bus #66 is a few blocks away that runs frequently and takes you downtown to Navy Pier or subway connections.
