I gave this two stars because it is a hostel, it is relatively affordable, and they do not claim anything in their ads that isn't true. However, I found the room to be uncomfortably warm and the window did not open easily, there were ants in the room, and the bed(s) were very uncomfortable. The shared bathroom was clean but smelled like sewage each time we went in there. The breakfast was very limited. Our floor was very noisy, with people running around and yelling/talking loudly until 2:00 in the morning. We had booked two nights but left after one. We would not stay there again, but for those whose priority is affordability and don't mind roughing it, it might be ok.

It’s silly that you won’t accept out of city residents. We drove 90 minutes to stay. While I appreciate the exception, why have such a policy?

This place is great for a short stay. This is not a place where you should expect 5 star hotel. I loved it! The room was spacious and I made sure to book the room with my own bathroom since I did have my teenage daughter with me. I do NOT recommend staying here if you want parking to be convenient . I used spot hero and then just paid the parking garage $17 for 12 hrs. It was about about a quarter mile walk. I didn’t mind it at all. The neighborhood is close to so many dining options, bars, shops and if you really want to you can walk to the zoo. I was so impressed by how clean the rooms were despite being a hostel! I would definitely stay here again if I don’t have a car to park. They do offer coffee, cereal, yogurt and toast for breakfast. Nothing crazy but a very nice offering. I highly recommend

Very nice facility. But the walls were so thin. Had a group of chatty gossip queens in the room next door to me that were up all night being loud and rude. It’s funny the whole floor was empty it seemed, except my room and there's. It was like they grouped us together on purpose. Room was nice otherwise. Breakfast was some cereal and eggo waffles.

We needed a nice clean comfortable place to rest our head and this was exactly it. The 24 hour reception allowed us to arrive after our late night flight, and the included breakfast was an unexpected surprise. We are so thrilled we found a new hostel to add to our list when we travel to Chicago, and we cannot wait to be back!

Booked this for two nights for my husband who needed simple economical lodging for a work trip that wouldn’t be reimbursed. This fit the bill perfectly. We got him the room with private bath and he found it comfortable, clean and quiet. He said the staff was wonderfully helpful and polite and that the stay overall was really a positive surprise. Would stay again.

The beds are not comfortable at all. The showers are way too small. No privacy, so just hope youre the only one in the nathroom at tue time. Theres like a drain right infront of the ahowers and it smells so bad.

Beautiful safe place to stay
Perfectly clean, friendly, ecologically sound. The building is safe and has beautiful character. My room had a fancy window and a fireplace. It does not look like a typical hostel.

I was in town for the Bears game, on game day Lyft/Uber was going to take too long, so I asked the front desk how else I could get there, he suggested the train, now being from South Carolina we don’t have trains, lol, I asked if it was safe he said yes but do not take at night. He gave me very good directions on where to catch the train, I made it there and back, safe. He also gave me directions to the local restaurants down the street. The hotel was in a VERY nice neighborhood. When I did need Lyft, they were there. Hotel was really cool. I stayed in a single room by myself, it had a bathroom but no shower. The showers/restroom was “dorm”style “, very clean. I would definitely stay here again. 👍👍 up!!! I’m so sorry I don’t remember the guys name, but he was awesome!

This hostel was easy to use. Parking was great to deal with in Chicago. The staff was knowledgeable about the local community. The price was very affordable. The room was clean. There are a lot of restaurants, just a few blocks away. Walkable, and it feels like a safe urban environment. The fun of the urban Chicago, but still safe. And assuming you know it's a hostel, meaning there's a difference whether you get a room with a bathroom of your own or not and there's not a TV in the room, it's great.

Free parking was so easy, the shared kitchen made buying groceries and cooking very ideal. Also the walk to the bus stop was very close and saved us so much money on ubers. We had a private room and used the shared bathroom for showering, which were very clean. Overall very cool vibes for solo travelers or those in groups. All different ages, men and women, and lots of languages. 10/10 experience.

It’s cheap and the breakfast was included. I booked 2 nights before the trip and tried to cancel one of the night because of the room conditions. But it was rejected. I understood about it. few days after the trip, I got bed bug bites all skins. My home never had bed bugs before. So I asked refunds not fully at least and I sent the doctor paper and pictures of the bites. but hostel said my health care provider was not sure what caused your skin irritation.They checked with the building engineer just examined the mattresses in the room I stayed in, and found zero evidence of any insect activity. I got it but it was not good experiences.
