I didn’t eat so can't rate that aspect of stay but reception was very friendly and appeared very organised. Room was fine though bathroom could do with updating. The toilet roll holder was not in an easy place to reach and the towel rail was extremely high.

Turn up and the room we were put in hand't been cleaned and someone had been sleeping in the bed. the room we did have was nice but far to hot and no way of controlling the temperature Definitely not worth the price we paid

Comfortable room, modern and clean. The toilet flush was weak but that was all. The restaurant was great and we were fortunate to be served by two wait staff who were exceptionally good and very pleasant - one who served us for dinner and one who served us for breakfast. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely staff. They were happy to give baby cot but did not tell me that I will be charged £5 until it was check out time. Needed to wait a while to get the hot water issues fixed as it seemed boiler wasn’t sat right? Not told what was the issue really. The sink was flooding and when I tried to see if I can unblock it it was so disgusting and so filthy. I really regretted the whole thing. I don’t know why but the cheaper travelodge I was much cleaner and better maintained.

Wonderful small country Inn. Great staff, delicious food. A car is a must as Holmes Chapel is very small and very little within walking distance.

Don’t try charging your electric car here!
The manager kindly connected an extension lead in the dining room to our car charging cable. unfortunately, he failed to tell the night porter who unplugged the extension and shut the doors on my expensive cable which has been badly damaged! Room ok but with windows open bad traffic noise early morning.

I had booked for two nights for myself and my daughter. On the second day whilst at work my daughter had to go to A&E - we spent 6 hours at hospital and afterwards as a result of her health decided to go back to the hotel and collect our things to go home. I arrived at the hotel and informed the receptionist of this and that we would no longer need the room for the night. She did not ask how my daughter was, if we needed anything for our journey back or even show any empathy or anything. At the least I would of hoped for a little empathy or for her to offer something - but nothing - all I got was… that’s fine we’re all done here so you can just grab your things. Terrible in my view - even an offer of a % off the next visit as a gesture or any empathy would have made me perhaps book again… but nothing, so I won’t be going back on that basis. Which is a shame as the people who work in restaurant and bar were amazing and amazing food too. Business need to empower their staff to be ‘human’ it’s as simple as that really.

Beware of the peacocks
The hotels has peacocks wandering around. Yes very random. The noise they make is horrific. Continues the entire stay. Worse than cockerels. On top of the peacock noise there was a dog barking at the noise they were making. So no sleep on the two nights stay.

The room was nice, clean and comfortable, the breakfast was nice enough although items missing. I booked an early check in which didn't occur as the room wasn't ready and was still charged for it... and at an incorrect amount. The website said pay on arrival and the hotel took the amount 3 days before I arrived. So although the room was nice enough the rest of it wasn't a very good service at all. I am still awaiting a response!! :(

On balance it’s a perfunctory and reasonably priced place to stopover on longer journeys, The rooms are decent enough with crisps and small water bottles provided, my issue came when I arrived late to find out there was no parking(although advertised with free parking) I was tired and wanted to lay my head down, one of the staff rather curtly suggested I park on a nearby road, I wouldn’t have booked the hotel had I been made aware of this before hand. To be fair the receptionist was much more understanding and had I spoken to her first I may not have been so irked by this… Room was perfectly nice, I was alone and chose the cheapest double, the bed was comfy and I got a decent nights sleep. The shower in the morning however was cold, I’d say cold water is a big mark down personally as it’s a fundamental of a hotel stay over. So - if you are arriving on a Saturday and leaving early on Sunday I’d suggest making sure both these things are taken care of at least checked before you book.
