Your home made our special day, even more memorable and beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for more. Everything about this home is inviting. Wonderful property and very friendly host!
Some friends and I stayed at the house for 4 days (3 nights), and it is amazing! Spacious enough that people can spread out and engage in multiple activities without being on top of each other, but also roomy enough for when we all got togetger for group activities and meals. Second house had it's own kitchenette, pool table, ping pong and lounge while the main house was great for watching movies, playing group games, and cooking meals for 10+ people. The views are absolutely stunning and Amos was very pleasant and responsive. Would absolutely go back: 10out of 10 star experience!

Our Fifth Stay
As this was our fifth stay at the property, it goes without saying that we have had many enjoyable times there and find the property and location to be very lovely and ideal for our purposes. It is much the same now as it had been on our four previous visits. We did notice this year that there was much less firewood provided than in the past. A whole wall of the garage used to be stocked with firewood, but this time the amount we were provided only allowed us to have indoor fires for part of the day on two of our three nights at the property, as we were worried about running out of wood. This was somewhat disappointing, as the ability to enjoy the fireplace for the duration of our stay has always been an important selling point of the property. We thought that perhaps this was simply a timing issue that would not have occurred if a wood delivery had taken place more recently. Otherwise, we had a good, relaxing time. We will certainly be considering a return visit in the future.

Wonderful home!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The great room is exactly what we look for on trips, since it has room for everyone in our group of 14, and includes those in the kitchen as well. The hot tub was inviting, as the weather was cold and rainy while we were there. I would love to go back another time and enjoy the views in the nicer weather - it is an amazing property! Amos was very responsive during the whole process. We recommend his home to everyone!

The views are incredible
off the bat the views are incredible no matter which way you look. Seriously, bring a camera and binoculars. The interior is huge and tons of windows. The hot tub was really nice and clean. They allowed us to host our wedding there and the space was perfect. We had a couple of small snags but the owners were incredibly good with communicating. A thing of note: there is no door to the master bedroom. You do have your own wing of the house and bathroom but there is no door. The barn is beautiful as well and has 3 separate beds with it's own private living space. Overall the place is definitely worth the stay.

Beautiful Property
The property was just as beautiful in person as it is in the photos. In town for a family wedding and everything went smooth giving us one less thing to worry about! The large kitchen/living area is excellent for family activities and conversation. We would highly recommend this property!!

Legends of Baseball in Cooperstown
I travel to Cooperstown annually with friends and family to play baseball at Doubleday and Beaver Valley fields. Amos’ property was big enough for our entire group to stay together. Lots of room, very quiet, and had everything we needed. We will look for this house again when booking next year!

Amos was veryeasy to deal with fromthe start. Property was perfect for our party of 10. Our boys enjoyed playing wiffle ball and the hot tub when not at baseball. The views during all times of the day were amazing. Dark property makes it great for viewing of the stars. Soooo beautiful. Definitely would rent again.

Incredible house and property
Stay was incredible, any questions to the owner were answered extree mely quick and the area had some great spots we visited in addition to the great time on the property. Use of the hot tub was amazing, Unadilla Dirt Bike Track was awesome, hit Wintergreen Park which had some amazing overlook sights and then made our way to a local Irish Pub! Would recommend this to anyone, can't wait to return in 2024.

Amazing views
Great getaway with friends. Had 5 kids age 8-11 with us and they loved the openness of the land to play. Parents loved the serenity of having no one in site. Views were amazing. We visited the Baseball Hall of Fame and Howe Caverns, both 30 min away. Come prepared with food not many places nearby for shopping. Gorgeous great room to sit by the fire and unplug.

Weekend of relaxation and laughs
Once a year I get together with my friends from college. We are older now and just want to relax, have a couple drinks, and sit by a fire. This property has gorgeous views of the country side and is perfect for us. We have rented this house twice in the past three years and will be going her again very soon.

This property is amazing and the pictures really don't show the detail in this house. There is a touch of old and new all in one. For us this was about escaping the world for a few days. Views are amazing and the grounds were great. Amazing sunrise views in the morning right of the master. Highly recommend this spot. Owner was quick to respond to a message sent regarding the change in WiFi login info. I would love to return again

I found this place online and thought it looked like a relaxing place. It is!! You will need to bring meals or groceries with you. You can drive into Cooperstown approx. 23 miles. We ate breakfast at the house and then lunch or dinner in town. Unless you want to spend the whole day in town. We also went to Glimmerglass some days after having breakfast and packed our lunch/snacks and then ate dinner in town and walked around town. It is a nice place to get away. House is air conditioned in the two extra bedrooms not the master bedroom. It is air conditioned in the media room but not in the kitchen/great room. If it is hot outside it will be very warm in the kitchen/great room till evening. We spent our time in the media room if it was too warm. It worked for us. In the evening it was comfortable. We had a nice stay. Views were great, location was good for use, 30 minutes to downtown Cooperstown. We were disappointed with some stuff based on reading the reviews of others. The main room is great but needs curtains/shades, during summer the sun just beats in the windows and the room gets very hot(no AC). House overall seemed a bit beat up, half the outlets worked, holes and chips in some walls, both shows doors leaked on the floor. There were wood bees everywhere outside, especially by the hot tub, made it hard to enjoy the deck and patio without being swarmed by bees. Overall stay was nice, just a bit disappointed in the quality for the price, especially based on the other reviews we read.

A great getaway in a beautiful home set in an idyllic location!
The Home: Beautiful, well maintained, and clean. The main room where the kitchen and living room are, is absolutely amazing and has a beautiful view of rolling hills. The radiant floor heating makes the property extremely comfortable no matter how frightful the weather is outside. Comfortable beds, plenty of couches and room to spread out. A couple small notes: 1) two of the beds/bedrooms have only a partial wall between them; great for kids but probably not for adults. 2) be VERY careful about leaving food or crumbs anywhere in the kitchen, including in the sink, on counters, or on dining room table; if you are not careful, you will be taken over by thousands (literally) of little ants. Put everything that isn't sealed into the refrigerator to be safe! 3) when you arrive, the hot tub will likely be set at a very low temp (like 82 deg), so you will need to manually turn the temperature up and wait several hours for it to warm up. 4) The wifi is very slow (satellite based), so do not expect to be able to do video-calls for work (eg Zoom, Teams) without a lot of lag. 5) The hot tub is oriented in a funny way, where your primary view is of the garage; it would be nice to rotate it 180-degrees so that the open cover blocks the view of the garage and your primary view is of the farms/hills. The Location: If you're looking to get away from urban sprawl, this is an ideal spot. It's set on a beautiful landscape, atop a small hill with limitless views of rolling hills and farmland. But there is a cost of being so far out: do not expect to order delivery of anything, especially food! We made the mistake of only buying essentials at the grocery store before arriving, but you'll want to bring stuff to cook (in the amazing and well-stocked kitchen!) otherwise you'll be traveling about 45-mins (round-trip) to get something reasonably good (the mediterranean place in Fort Plain has great pizza!). The only other picky thing about the location, is there is another house on the property; there are people living there, not sure if they're renters or the owners. We never really saw them, other than their vehicles driving in-out intermittently, but it's worth pointing out that you'll likely have close neighbors. The owners: We didn't interact much with them, but when we had questions (e.g., about where the full-pot coffee maker was), Amos was quick to respond and helpful. They clearly put a lot of care and thoughtfulness into their property, and we appreciate it!

This place is breathtaking. The pictures do not do this house and this property justice. Every room was amazing. The house was stocked with certain necessities. There was everything you could need for having children. The hot tub was very nice. We had a great time. At one point we could not figure out how to close the double doors. When we called to ask, they were easy to get in contact with. Would stay again!

Great pandemic getaway
The house was great. It was exactly as described in the listing. There were many linens and the kitchen was well stocked with all the items needed for cooking. There was a winter storm while we were there and it was incredibly windy and cold outside. Despite the cold winter weather, the house stayed very warm. The hot tub was great and the views of the sunrise and sunsets were fantastic.

What a beautiful Comfortable home . My 9 month old granddgt loved the heated floors. We were all warm and cozy during a winter wonderland storm , even in the hot tub .We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen . We even had a BBQ. Amos was very easy to contact and very accommodating. Perfect Winter Getaway!
A beautiful long weekend with my husband and three little kids! The house was perfectly clean, check-in smooth. The view from the great room was breathtaking! It was a chilly few days but the hot tub was still so enjoyable. We had an issue with the fireplace the first night but quickly resolved the problem after talking with Amos. He was extremely attentive and easy to get a hold of. We had an amazing time and plan to return in the fall or next winter. Added bonus - we were there for Super Bowl Sunday. The projection screen in the tv room made it a great place to watch!

Peaceful Retreat
My group has been staying in Amos' house almost annually for many years. We like him and his property very much. Our most recent stay was mostly issue-free. The hot water heater failed one morning, but Amos was right down the road and able to get it started again. The home is clean, well-appointed, with plenty of firewood, furniture in good condition, and plenty of toys for the young children to enjoy. The views from the hill to the surrounding countryside are spectacular. We hope to be able to stay with Amos for many more years to come.

2nd visit even better!
We loved this home so much we came back again this year. Beautiful location. The kitchen is awesome! Loved cooking big dinners every night and then relaxing by the fireplace or in the hot tub. One note the pictures do not show the new sectional in the great room with two double recliners. Great place to snuggle next to the fire. We can’t wait to go back.

Breathtaking views without having to leave the house! We appreciated the heated floors and how warm the whole house was. The kitchen setup was a joy to cook in especially with the incredible views due to the open concept layout. Very comfy arrangements in any room you were in. The hot tub jets were awesome! We really enjoyed the great room with it’s panoramic views and the huge kitchen island. My husband loved cooking on the high end gas stove. It took us a while to figure out all the different light switches. There were no hooks or towel bars in the bathrooms, so no place to hang wet towels. We did had a really nice time and I will miss those incredible views!

Winter Retreat
