The only thing that I would have appreciated a heads up on was the fact that she has a permanent tenant in the basement. That said, we barely noticed that he was on the property at all. Check in and check out was super easy, and the area is relatively quiet. Heads up- make sure that you bring your own towels and linens unless you don't mind doing some laundry during your stay. Of the many places we have stayed, our weekend at Lake Junaluska was our best experience. The home was beautifully appointed, spacious (and including two ground floor master suites for our older sisters and partners), warm and inviting for sharing conversations in a cozy circle in comfortable living room seating, and our host, Kathy, was immediately responsive in all communications -- offering flexibility in all details, including our rebooking after Hurricane Helene. The Lake Junaluska area is beautiful, especially the overlooks across the lake and mountains and the well-used paved walking/running tour around the lake. Beautiful and so relaxing. We had a 90 yo couple with us and the access to the house & two master suites on the ground level was great.
