Lovely location

The Middle Gable at Bourton on the Water is a one of a kind experience as your accomodations were built in the 1600's. The home is charming. The town is absolutely lovely.

A fantastic historic house in a superb location

Middle Gable is a unique opportunity to stay in a very comfortable house which incredibly dates back to 1642. It is very well equipped, beautifully furnished and in a fantastic location in the heart of the Cotswolds. There are countless places to visit and many walks in the area. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and this is one of the very best, full of character and history. We will return and have already recommended it to our friends and family.

Lovely house

Lovely atmospheric property within minutes of the centre of town. Enough parking for two cars in the garage. Everything was in excellent order and the gardens surrounding the house were lovely. It would have been helpful to have access a little earlier than 5.00pm and to be given the key code to get in at least a day before rather than 15 minutes before arrival at 5.00pm.

A holiday home steeped in history

If you want to feel on holiday in a bygone era but with the essential mod cons of modern living then this is the place to stay. TV, wi-fi, underfloor heating, fully fitted kitchen in surroundings befitting Henry the 8th. A fabulous and comfortable old 4 poster bed in a bedroom that makes you think you're time travelling. All surrounded by a beautiful and quiet English country garden and really close to the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water. We had a great few days away at Middle Gable relaxing and enjoying the many delights of the Cotswolds. Cate the owner couldn't have been more helpful, thank you for sharing your beautiful house.

Wonderful Cotswold Property

Middle Cable embodied everything we were looking for during our stay in the Cotswold. From the enchanting construction of the property, to the beautiful garden area and interior details, everything enhanced our first visit together to this region of England. The living spaces inside are very comfortable, and especially the huge master bed! The kitchen was very well equipped with everything to prepare light or full meals. Cate was wonderful in her communications and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. It truly provided a very nice personal touch. We are very pleased with the decision to select this property, and can highly recommend it for a visit to the Cotswolds.

Lovely

We enjoyed our week at Middle Gable. The house is so warm and cosy. It’s very atmospheric as it’s such an old property. Cate is very friendly and always on hand if you need to contact her. The location is fantastic as it’s 2 mins from the hustle and bustle but still nice and quiet. Looking forward to coming back in the future

A lovely stay in Bourton

Me & some friends had a wonderful stay at Middle Gable. Cat was helpful in ensuring we got checked-in OK and the neighbours were friendly. Even with five of us, the house was spacious and charming, to fit the vibe of the lovely Cotswolds town that you're almost in the middle of. A wonderful stay & a great place that we'd recommend.

If you love gardens, historic buildings, perfect location and really nice and friendly neighbours, then this is the place for you. The location is just over a block from all amenities and yet the yard is very quiet and relaxing. We had our own garden space that we could relax in.

A stunning property, perfect location near to everything. The house is full of character in a beautiful setting with a very pretty garden. Very cozy at night with the wood-burner, bed very comfortable (super-king which is what we are used to). Cate was very helpful and we couldn't have asked for a better choice for a weekend break, could have stayed longer. We plan to return!

Brilliant location

Perfect location, and a gorgeous old home. Clean and comfy bed. We were disappointed to not have control of the heating as it was very cold. We did have to buy our own wood to get a fire in the main room for some warmth. The water temperature for a bath also needs turning up as my teeth were chattering! Kitchen appliances and cookware needs updating. Host was easy to contact.

Beautiful home

This is a beautiful property and was exactly as described online. It is right in the village of Bourton-on-the-Water so it is easy to walk to places in the village, but just enough off the High Street that it is not in the middle of all the tourists. My only real concern with the booking was not being able to get the check in instructions via email. I had to call the property owner while I was already on my trip and get a lot of very specific, detailed information over the phone. I felt that info, as well as the code to open the key box should have been sent to me in an email a few days prior to my check in. Other than that, I loved this property and enjoyed my stay there.
