Amazing place
Such a beautiful place. The house is much bigger than you would expect looking at the photos. The boat house house with the balcony by the lake is wonderful, we want to go back during fall to enjoy the view of the lake even more.

Nous avons grandement apprécié notre court séjour, cette maison unique invite à l'harmonie et à la détente. Le boathouse est magnifique et les moments passés là ont juste été parfaits. Merci à notre hôte Nancy pour cette belle opportunité.

Magnifique endroit et agréable accueil
La maison est imposante et accueillante avec vue sur le superbe lac Meech. On y trouve tout le nécessaire pour un séjour parfait en famille. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié l’abri à bateaux sur le lac avec sa salle de séjour et sa terrasse, offrant un point de vue imprenable sur le lac et un accès facile pour les baignades et escapades en kayak. Idéal pour séjour tranquille en famille. Les enfants (8 et 2 ans) se sont beaucoup amusés. Merci beaucoup Nancy pour la maison impeccable, les communications rapides et utiles, pour l’accueil attentif et courtois!

Beautiful home!
The house is beautiful, very clean and well provisioned. We very much enjoyed our stay. The only downside was that there are about 40 stairs from the parking area to the front door, which was a bit tricky for my bad back and my daughter’s sore hip. So you should be in decent physical health for that. Otherwise it was a fabulous getaway, very relaxing.

This property and the location exceeded our expectations. The property had everything we needed(kitchen supplies,bedding,etc.). The boathouse waterfront was perfect for relaxation, kayaking the lake, enjoying nature and enjoying meals outdoors. Would definitely return and highly recommend!!

Just Wow!
This was an amazing stay. Much better in person as the pictures don’t do it justice. Nancy does a fantastic job of thinking of the little extras to make your stay feel like home. If I could have given 6 stars, I would have. This lake is pristine and quiet. Best over the water patio and screened in porch on the lake with all the things you would need to stay there all day if you wanted. Stayed 5 nights in June and would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful and exactly as advertised
This is a perfect lake retreat and a wonderful host. The home has everything that you need, and is immaculately clean but also very comfortable to relax, make a fire, put your feet up. Lots of different living spaces for everyone to have their little spot to relax. The only note for people who have limited mobility are the stairs to access the home are not suitable for anyone who isn't fully mobile. I would stay here again without a moment's hesitation.

Quick getaway
This was the perfect place to relax and recharge. A beautiful, comfortable home with every detail considered. Close enough to the city, but a world away. Enjoyed hiking Blanchet trail and the view of the lake from the dock.

Lac Meech
We stayed at this beautiful home a few years back and returned again. Everything was just as nice. Meech Lake is very peaceful, mostly without motor boats and Gatineau is magical. Nancy's place is a wonderful as ever.

Perfect getaway!
Nancy was an amazing host to deal with. She was very fast at replying to any questions and provided additional information when needed. The property and home are beautiful. You can tell a lot of though went into decisions regarding the place. The boathouse is an excellent option if you want to be at the water but want more shade or to be screened in. It felt as if it were a living room on the lake. The lake was very calm with a sandy bottom and walk in access. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice getaway. It was a very peaceful retreat from the city.

Great weekend getaway
The home is gorgeous. The kitchen is very equipped. Two of us are seniors and the stairs leading from the road up to the house presented a small challenge but once in the home, the climb is well worth it.

Great destination point to gather for our small reunion. Ample nooks and sitting areas to contrast the need between alone time versus social times. Dream kitchen to cook around and oh yeah, having direct access to the quiet waterfront was pretty spectacular too :)

Stunningly stylish and beautiful house. Fantastic dock patio where we had dessert and enjoyed the view of the lake and surrounding woods with their coloured leaves. Kitchen and dishes are excellent quality-we cooked an excellent Thanksgiving dinner. We enjoyed the large and very comfortable house where we spent the week. Very comfortable, quiet and relaxing. We walked some of the Gatineau park trails.

This is an absolutely stunning property
I don't think the pictures do it justice! The house is beautifully designed and very comfortable. The "boathouse" is a spectacular space to spend time enjoying the view. Host Nancy was very communicative throughout, and provided some excellent recommendations on restaurants and activities to do in the area. When we forgot something in the house after checking out, she graciously said she will mail it to us. We couldn't have been happier with this rental - I highly recommend it.

Beautiful Retreat in Gatineau Park
A truly stunning home with outstanding views of Meech Lake. The property is spotlessly clean and very well-equipped. We appreciated the easy access to hiking and bike trails, but were just as happy spending lazy afternoons swimming and lounging at the beautiful boathouse. Would definitely rent this property again.

The best part of this property is the lakeside “boat house” separated from the house by the main road. The lake is beautiful - make sure to take advantage of the property’s kayak or tandem kayak. We brought our paddle board and it got tons of use. The view from the main house is extraordinary and the house itself is gorgeous. Highly recommend!

So lovely.
One of the most beautiful houses we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying at. The floors were very clean (I mention this in particular because we always take our shoes off when we come inside, and it’s not always the case that the floors of a summer rental are this clean!) You do need to be mobile and able to manage many stairs to be able to use this property - if so, you are likely to love it as much as we did. Well-stocked, with a beautiful two-story boathouse with wraparound dock. And Meech Lake is beautiful no matter what the weather brings - we had many swims on gorgeous hot days as well as on the cooler days. Thank you again Nancy!

Wonderful Winter Weekend
Absolutely lovely property! Beautiful finishes with exposed wood and two stone fireplaces. Windows look out onto a beautiful lake and rolling hills. Bathroom equipped with a lovely tub for soaking. Kitchen has all you need. Just perfect. We were a family of four adults who did not mind the stairs to the property. An elderly couple might find them difficult.

Heavenly retreat on Meech Lake
We enjoyed family day weekend at this beautiful property. The stone and wood finishes were perfect along with two wood burning fireplaces. I was impressed with all the little touches, the elevated kitchen wares, the high quality linens and pillows, the pre-assembled fire to get us started, there wasn't a thing that was overlooked or missing. We will definitely be back. Thanks Nancy for sharing your property with us.

This is a wonderful spacious house. The kitchen is extremely well set up and very high end. The house is bright and open. Although the lake was still frozen we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The home is gorgeous. A large fully equipped kitchen that I enjoyed cooking our meals in whilst enjoying the views of the the lake from the large windows. The living room is relaxing with books and games. There is an upstairs tv room which separate from the peace of the house . The pictures do not do the home justice. The deck is very large with an indoor room adjoined. The lake is peaceful and quiet with no motor boats. It was a beautiful retreat. Thanks Nancy

Nancy is a great host and is always available to help if ever needed. The place is magnificent with incredible and panoramic views of Meech Lake. Christmas 2019
Our family spent 3 memorable weeks tucked away in this luxurious retreat on Meech Lake over the holidays. The home felt comfortable from the minute we got there. In fact, the two fireplaces were blazing when we walked in, thanks to Nancy's hospitality. We love to cook and the kitchen had all the amenities we needed and more - the double gas oven and le creuset cookware were a real luxury. The area had trails for snow shoeing, hiking with crampons, skiing (day and night), skating on the lake, Nordic spa, Chelsea Pub, and only a 20 minute drive to downtown Ottawa. Having only one TV was perfect - we enjoyed lots of cards games over the break. Outside stairs and inside stairs to the loft (tv area) were a bit tricky and required some care when using. One more bedroom for our second adult son would have been ideal (just two bedrooms which we did know going in) but we made it work. Thanks, Nancy, for making Christmas 2019 a holiday we will always remember!

Cozy, well-appointed cabin on the lake
This is our second visit after discovering this beautiful home last February. Enjoyed a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend. Feels like visiting someone's well-loved home. The kitchen is very well stocked, making it easy to host a big turkey dinner. Nancy is very prompt and helpful in her responses. Ideally the couch in the loft would be the fold-out, instead of (or in addition to) the one in the main living room but otherwise, we managed to sleep 4 adults comfortably. Hope to visit again in the future.

Gorgeous home, in a charming town
Nancy’s cottage on the hill exceeded our expectations. The home itself was larger than pictured - high ceilings and beautiful tile floors - very open and airy. It was perfect for us and our 3 pre-teens. As other reviewers noted - there is a steep climb up rocky stairs - so take note when packing. The boathouse across the street offered gorgeous views of the lake; plenty of room to sun or sit inside for some shade. There was zero boat traffic, just lots of swimmers and kayakers. The town of Old Chelsea was absolutely charming, offering great restaurants and bakeries. We can’t wait to return!

Great house and surroundings, but the sleeping situation could be better for five grown-ups
Wir verbrachten wunderbare Tage in einem wunderschönen Haus. Man spürt, dass das Haus von der Eigentümerin sehr geschätzt und geliebt wird: Toll eingerichtet, perfekt ausgestattete Küche, Klavier, Bücher und Zeitschriften. Aber die Schlafsituation war für uns - Eltern mit drei großen Kindern - schwierig. Denn neben einem guten Schlafzimmer mit breitem Bett und Fenster, gab es nur noch ein Zimmer mit einem 1,35 m breiten Bett, dessen Fenster eine nicht zu öffnende Dachluke war. Dann gab es noch ein Ausziehsofa im Wohnzimmer, dessen Matratze nicht sehr komfortabel war. Dazu konnte keines der Fenster in irgendeiner Weise verdunkelt werden. Also: Perfekt für drei - bei fünf Gästen müsste noch nachgebessert werden.

We had a wonderful vacation week at Meech Lake. Nancy's home is absolutely stunning, beautifully designed and very comfortable. The lake was lovely and the region feels peaceful and remote but is very close to anything you could ever want. If you get a chance to stay here you won't be disappointed!

Wonderful Canadian Vacation Home
This beautiful home was the perfect getaway place for our family vacation Just right for our family of three. We had everything we needed to stay comfortably. The boathouse was fun for cooking out and fishing - lots of fishing! Meech Lake is so clean and clear. As another reviewer mentioned, there are a number of stairs leading up to the house, but for our trips up and down once or twice a day, it wasn't a big issue. It would not deter us from staying here again. The area is beautiful, quiet, and only a short 20 minute drive from Ottawa.
