It’s so well placed for getting to the station, restaurants and shopping in Chelmsford. We didn’t eat at the hotel. I had a really pleasant stay at The Ship. The room was compact but spotless and well-organised, with a comfy single bed, en-suite bathroom, TV, and a side cabinet stocked with tea, coffee, and biscuits—such a thoughtful touch. It had been a long time since I’d slept in a single bed, but it was surprisingly comfortable and perfect for a good night’s rest. The pub had a good vibe and the food was lovely. Room basic but comfy. Main criticism is that the bathroom was much too hot. I nearly burnt my hand when I accidentally touched the heated towel rail while reaching for the toilet paper.
