The room was clean, but extremely dated and sterile. Honestly, I felt like I was sleeping in my kitchen. The white lighting made it feel cold and unwelcoming. The room was really hot and muggy, because they didn't prepare it by turning the air on. The bathroom was extremely dated, with a shower curtain that didn't curve out, so it made the shower space extremely small, with the curtain (which probably doesn't get cleaned) too close to my body. (GROSS!)
The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean, but the kitchen was very dated and black, and the counter was way too long and cheaper than Ikea's worst model. It honestly felt like I was sleeping in my kitchen AND office. NO ATMOSPHERE.
The hallways on my floor stunk of people cooking fried food. My door didn't have a safety lock. My phone was dead. I asked to switch rooms, and they were very accommodating, but the night clerk wasn't particularly friendly and told me he'd never heard of safety locks on doors. The second room had a lock and phone that worked, but the atmosphere was the same.
The location was 20 minutes from downtown, so it was also inconvenient.
