Bungalow on the side of Missionary Ridge, Furry Friends Welcome This house build in 2017, one story,has all the amenities! There is a 2 dog limit. My insurance will not allow pit bulls, chows, Rottweilers or dobermans, or any of these mixed breeds. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. It has a laundry room. The hall bath has a tub/shower combo. Tile floors throughout. A romantic fireplace is in the living room. Smoking is allowed on the huge front porch, where you can relax and let your worries float away! Behind the house there is a fire pit, too. The Battle of Missionary Ridge was fought on these grounds. I have found bullets, cannon balls, and shot while digging in the flower beds. I live across the street and the garden is located behind the "eyeball" wall. It is on old 3 tiered garden with 2 ponds. Sit on the bench and listen to the Mermaid fountain splash as the goldfish swim leisurely about. The birds will help you leave your troubles behind or swing and just remember times gone by. You will enjoy fabulous views of downtown and watch the sunset behind Lookout Mountain. There is a 2 dog limit with a FENCED IN BACK YARD. There are 2 other short term rentals on the same block, Gray Gables and Ridgedale Roost, if you need multiple houses for big events. Come and see the flowering bulbs in the spring! She’s lives across the street from the VRBO, so she stopped by to introduce herself and encourage us to reach out if we needed anything. The house was perfect for us. Also she provided a list of things to do in Chattanooga and recommended some places to eat. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The house was so homey and cozy and you could tell a lot of effort was put into decorating and adding nice little touches. The house was a perfect home base for our outings to the Aquarium, Coolidge Park, Duckboats, Rock City, Ruby Falls, and nearby restaurants.Just an FYI for others that the house is close to the highway so when outside on the porch you’ll hear the passing traffic. And on occasion from inside you can hear 18-wheelers downshifting. This didn’t bother us at all and didn’t impact our visit but just wanted to include it so others are aware. ##### Eric G. It was very conveniently located to all of the activities that we wanted to do. The house had an AMAZING selection of toys for our little ones, and it was well laid out for 7 of us. Tammy the host thought of everything. She has toys for kids of all ages. No need to pack up so much for a baby just ask her she provides so much. The homes she has are beautifully decorated. Very clean. It’s like your home away from home. She has a playground across the street for kids and other activities. She loves her flowers and the yards are beautiful. We traveled from both coasts for a Celebration of Life in Chattanooga, and this beautiful home provided a much-needed sanctuary. From the moment we stepped inside, we felt a sense of peace and warmth. The Kottage was impeccably clean, thoughtfully decorated, and exceptionally well-equipped. The fully stocked kitchen, which became a central gathering point for our family, allowed us to prepare traditional family recipes, providing a sense of normalcy during a difficult time. We were especially grateful for the pet-friendly policy and the secure, fenced backyard, allowing our four-legged family member to be with us without exorbitant fees. The location offered the perfect balance of convenience and tranquility, with easy access to major roads and grocery stores, yet far enough removed to allow for quiet reflection.Tammy, the owner/property manager, was responsive and thoughtful to messages and on the day of arrival, popped by for a quick minute to ensure we had everything we needed. Kathy's Kottage offered more than just a place to stay; it provided a haven of comfort and support during a challenging time. The house was fully decorated for Christmas! It was such a wonderful surprise! It was very nice, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing visit. Just to note, the yard is not directly accessed by a door - there are a few steps to reach the gate. The street itself felt safe and pleasant, but be aware that there are some homeless individuals in the nearby area. It wasn’t an issue for us, but it’s worth noting.
