The manager, Tamas, who was professional and courteous, explained that this may have been due to a privacy policy. However, providing incorrect information to someone legitimately looking for a registered guest is unacceptable and caused unnecessary confusion. On a positive note, the restaurant staff provided excellent service, the food was very good, and the room itself was comfortable.
