Conveniently located walking distance from the beach (150 m), restaurants and markets you 'll enjoy the privacy of the garden and proximity of beautiful La Rochelle. Le logement Maison Emile is the family second-home my grand-father built in 1908 with his father. It is located in a very charming village of Charente-Maritime, 6 Km from La Rochelle, one block from the 2 mile long sandy Beach of Chatelaillon-Plage , one block from the typical market that happens everyday in July/August/September and less than a 5 min walk from restaurants, bars, shops, a casino, bakeries, grocery store and many more. To me that what makes the stay at Maison Emile so enjoyable. We can spend weeks without getting in the car because kids are free to go anywhere from beach for a quick swim or to market to get some bread either on a bike or walking, all feeling really safe. Located in a one way street, Maison Emile represents the architectural standards of "Charente-Maritime"with a modern refit to allow for bigger more spacious rooms. We've just finished a major rehabilitation of the house that was entirely repainted, new bathroom, furniture and new garden. The 2 story house offers 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms while a large mezzanine under the roof makes a great space for an extra bedroom that kids love. The downstairs features a double living room and a fully equipped kitchen. Maison Emile offers both a front and back yard, the backyard being the ideal place to enjoy meals outside and relaxing moments. The city of La Rochelle is a marvel from the Middle-age era, its harbor and famous tours make for one of the most lively coastal city in France (great night life also) with gourmet restaurants serving world-class sea food and charming boutiques. La Rochelle has direct transport from Paris in 3h1/2 hour with TGV (high speed train) or plane service. Famous Ile-de -Ré island is within a 20 mn drive while Oleron Island is also close by. Accès des voyageurs Appart from closed storage room on the outside, the whole house is available for guest to enjoy. Autres remarques During July/August the city of Chatelaillon-Plage offers many "happenings" from free fitness/aerobic classes on the beach with library for kids, a beach-club for kids with daily entertainment and activities from trampoline, face painting, to numerous races and physical activities.
