We really enjoyed staying at the house over a recent holiday trip to Charlottesville. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. The living area and kitchen are very spacious. The only disappointment was the bathrooms, which could use a little updating. We were also disappointed we had to pay to check in a few hours in advance, which we thought should just be a curtesy. But otherwise, the house was a perfect fit for a long weekend in Charlottesville with family!
This was the perfect location for 10 college friends to gather and celebrate our 70th birthdays to! We came from all over the US to Charlottesville. At Hoos Homestead, we enjoyed morning yoga stretch sessions in the living room, beautiful breakfasts and happy hours on the back patio, walks around the neighborhood and super comfortable sleeping in the 5 guest rooms. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and serving. The location is great for easy access to Monticello, UVA Lawn, downtown shopping and eating and the many wineries that we enjoyed. I’d definitely recommend it, along with the Stay Charlottesville concierge service who helped us.
Beautiful home with all the amenities you would need. The location was perfect, close to Grounds and convenient for day trips. Our group had a wonderful stay and would love to return for another football weekend.
This house was very spacious and had lots of comfortable seating! It was very nicely decorated and we had everything we needed. It was close enough to the main area downtown to easily drive or take an Uber. The neighborhood was quiet and it felt very safe. I would highly recommend this property for your future stay!
To put it simply, we did not want to leave! This property was absolutely stunning. The house was amazing and had so much charm. The location was perfect and centrally located. Probably the best home I’ve ever rented. Hosts were welcoming and very communicative. All the amenities we could ask for. Already thinking about going back!
The house is beautiful! Beds very comfortable, kitchen very nice. We would rent again! Thank you!A few recommendations…Better knives, definitely a better grill with an area to place stuff. A house with 5 bedrooms for folks needs a bigger, nicer grill. There was a table upstairs in one of the bedrooms that has a missing leg. Might put it away.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, but the property management fees resulted in a high cost for the weekend. Though the house is beautiful and well-stocked, it's also very old and has few outlets, the wifi was painfully slow. The many level changes throughout the house are quirky, tripping hazards that aren't described in the listing. The neighborhood is beautiful and close to everything in town, but the neighbors DO NOT like that there is a short-term rental and made that clear to our kids playing outside. The next-door neighbor's dog barked incessantly after 10 pm and that was probably everyone's biggest complaint. Overall, we have a positive impression of the house. We just thought the price is high given some of the unfavorable conditions. The management company with the high fees didn't check-in with me during the weekend as many of us are accustomed.
