Summary: PLEASE NOTE: Our rates have been REDUCED AND DISCOUNTED to reflect potential daytime noise from nearby construction. As of 10/30/24, construction has begun on the lot behind the home and in the surrounding area, which may cause additional noise during the day. We have not been made aware of the exact schedule, but some days may be louder than others. Most work appears to take place on weekdays between approximately 8:00am–5:00pm. Please reach out if you have any questions before booking. Step into Charleston history with this beautifully remodeled 2-bedroom first-floor duplex, featuring original fireplaces over 100 years old, exposed beams, and thoughtfully updated interiors. Located right on King Street with a Walk Score of 98, the city’s best dining, shops, and nightlife are at your doorstep and yet you’ll enjoy the comfort of a private yard and cozy, home-like charm. The Space: The unit is made up of the entire first floor of the house and is a 2 bedroom unit with one full bath. The house was recently remodeled and is equipped with high end appliances and furniture. The living room, as well as both bedrooms have a Smart TV with basic cable and streaming apps like Netflix. There is an outdoor space with a picnic table and bikes for your use. Clean and boy oh boy those beds and pillows were extremely soft. Best sleep in a long time. It was a bit noisy, but that will be temporary when the construction across the street stops. The beds and pillows were phenomenal. Most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in on vacation. They also had fans in the bedrooms which is wonderful because I use the white noise for sleep. We had everything we needed and there was a lot of great character. The downsides were location related. The primary bedroom window is right on the street. It’s not the nicest area and having people walk right past your window at all hours is a little unsettling. The driveway is extremely tight and there are a few missing bricks. At one point I rolled my ankle on a missing brick trying to get out of the car. These things were not deal breakers but worth mentioning. The one thing that we hated about the stay was the road construction directly across the street. It went on OVERNIGHT! It shook the whole property. They were drilling and breaking up the road. It went on multiple nights and on the days that it didn’t they still started at 6 am! Very little sleep was had unfortunately. However it was in walking distance to some great restaurants and we enjoyed an ice cream shop just down the road. I would stay again knowing that the construction can’t last forever but I’d absolutely check first. ##### Amber B. We had a wonderful two nights, despite the construction right next door. We walked or rode our e-bike everywhere which was great. The outside area was terrific for our pup and there were really eclectic interesting restaurants all around. Our host was responsive and helpful and we would absolutely recommend this property. ##### Ramsey W. There is quite a bit of noise from the street which can't be helped. If you have a van or SUV you can have the driver exit the vehicle, but everyone else should exit before parking. The manager was prompt in answering any questions and responding to me. The place was clean and convenient. Loved the use of the bikes. The only complaint we might have is the volume of the neighborhood, as it was close to night life and the highway., but the use of a box fan blocked most of the noise. ##### Erin M. EVERY MOVEMENT was heard as if you were in the room with the couple. Thank you VRBO. We do not recommend this property. ##### Justine S. A cute spot to stay while exploring Charleston for the first time. It was a little bit of a trek to get downtown but we are big walkers so that was okay for us.
