Parking spot for upstairs unit is a 10 minute walk away. VRBO is so conveniently located in Charleston. Clean and comfortable for 6\. Great restaurants and shops along King Street are 2 streets away. I would suggest you start at the visitor center with a city bus tour. That way you learn the lay of the land. The Charleston Museum is excellent as are the 2 houses associated with the museum.
