The property was in a good location but the staff was rude, not helpful at all, the rooms were very outdated as well as the whole property. The tv barely worked and all of the channels were very low picture quality. It did not feel safe. They charge $15 a day for parking but the garage is old and run down and the key card reader is all smashed up so unusable so anyone can just drive in and park and leave whenever they want. Not worth $15 a day at all especially since there was a nicer garage right across the street charging $2. Everything was self serve which I actually don’t mind but they only had three luggage carts and very slow elevators. We would definitely not stay here again.

The hotel overall was ok but could have been better. Every surface of our room was very dusty. Left dust on our fingers. The bathroom counter was dirty as well has dirt on the shower floor and hair on the toilet. The bed was not made very well either. They no longer have a pool even though it was advertised and have pool listed on their sings.

Our room was dirty. Beer caps in the floor. Used washrag with private area hairs in the shower. Other than that the stay was good.

Best thing about the hotel is convenience to the civic center. Property was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Pool is listed on Expedia, however is permanently closed so that was a disappointment. Not really property’s fault. I would definitely stay again.

We had a Thursday- Sunday stay. During that time, we had no hot water. It would get mildly warm at best. I was offered some money back on my stay but not given an amount or when to expect it. Several other people at our convention also had the same issues.

The staff was very accommodating, sending a microwave to our room since we have a small child. I was also undecided on if i was going to bring our small dog so i did not book a room for that but they got us switched pretty easily. My room key was having issues being in my magnetic phone case and had to get it redone a few times with no issues. Allyson, a waitress at the bar was so extremely nice to my baby and I and really made it fun to come down and eat alone (my husband was at an event). We had to come back a second night. THE WATER PRESSURE IN THE SHOWER WAS A DREAM!

An older property for sure and the surrounding neighborhood is a bit rough but the hotel itself is clean, spacious and friendly staff. The $100 pet fee seems high though compared to other hotels.

For the amount that we paid which included a 100dollar pet fee the room could have been cleaner. The bathroom floor was not clean and the refrigerator had several bags of leftovers and dog food that made the room have a little bit of a bad order. We decided to eat at the restaurant the first night because we were going to a concert at the Charleston coliseum. That was not a good idea as the food was practically burned and extremely dry and contained very little filling.

I thought I was splurging because Marriott hotels are usually very nice but that was not the case. I will probably never stay at another Marriott hotel after this experience. The hotel overall was outdated and dirty. When we got to our room we checked for bed bugs which we have never felt the need to do before. The mattress itself was thin and uncomfortable. There weren’t any bugs but when we laid down on the bed it was covered with little hairs. They hotel staff switched us rooms but didn’t offer anything for the inconvenience. The hotel had a good rating and good reviews but I don’t see how. I felt like I was staying in a dirty motel rather than a Marriott hotel. I can’t believe Marriott would keep their name on that building.

The heat did not work in the room and countless tries did nothing. Ice maker on floor broken. No room service and restaurant bar didn't open until 4. But when you could find a waiter, they were nice. Breakfast was buffet style and the food, eggs and stuff, was cold. Not good at all. The parking garage key card reader was broken so anyone could have parked there for free but we were charged $15/day. We will never go back there again.
