"Hotel stay"
For a five star Hotel I was disappointed if we hadn't paid for the upgrade to the executive rooms it would have been more disappointed The films that we tried to play which you pay for did not work for three of the days we were there. I thought when we booked a view of the water that there would be a balcony.. I didn't mind that it was at the end of Mitchell St as it was more quite position was good. The breakfast buffet was not as good as what i would have thought for a five star hotel.

The Cavenagh - Darwin Hotels

The Cavenagh

12 Cavenagh Street, Darwin - Map
"Affordable central location"
The hotel provides comfortable lodging right in the heart of Darwin and has a great restaurant with very reasonable prices for excellent food. The Thursday night Churrasco is a particularly good deal (and delicious). The hotel itself is showing a little shabbiness, and we had to switch rooms due to a failing AC system. But the staff were really excellent at addressing issues. I wish smoking wasn't permitted anywhere. And the restaurant/bar scene is a little noisy in the evening but quiets down quickly after 9. We loved that the cafe opens at 6 AM. I'd definitely recommend The Cavenagh.

"Good Location and Price"
Hotel is in nice location, close to bars and shopping. Room is clean, but really bare (only a bed and table stand, no chair, no table). Area is quiet noisy at night. Hotel is generally clean, but ac is only inside rooms, not in other parts of the hotel.

Only single beds in the room, there was no desk or chair to sit at inside the room. Not ideal for a business trip. Fine for holidays.

"Convenient to Darwin shops and cafesand restaurant"
Spacious lobby convenient for waiting out of Darwin heat and humidity. Not too noisy and has convenient cafe bar adjacent, obliging staff, and breakfast bar. Front rooms have water views and some side rooms also. Our room had fans, split system cooling and dehumidifier. Fans were all that was needed in August.

"A nice place to stay, not far from everything"
I had a very pleasant stay. Signatures is not right in the middle of things but not far away. This enabled me to enjoy the quite when I wanted it at night and I didn't have to walk far to get to the restaurants etc when I wanted a more fun time.

"Lacked a Few Items Normally in a Hotel"
Clean and tidy the room was OK, but lacked a few items normally found in a Hotel that costs this much to stay in e.g. tissues and a waste paper bin in the actual room. There was also a charge for parking- that's OK for Southern capitals, but in Darwin plenty of hotels / motels can be found that don't charge for parking. Hot water was also a problem, the shower was too cold or too hot, not a great experience.
