The property is old, and with oder. Outside the property is dirty, especially the patio, totally not usable. The dryer was broken, asked the owner to get it fixed, but kept delaying until the day we checked out. We ended up bringing the wet laundry back home. We also called VRBO to help, but didn’t help at all. When we first walked in, we were hit with an overwhelming marijuana smell that was so bad it lingered for the entire 3 days of our stay after multiple fans, air fresheners and airing out with windows and doors open. When I informed the host about it they said the previous owner had trashed the place and they could bring air fresheners, that’s it. There was a cigarette burn hole and hair in the sheets. The toilet didn’t seal properly to the floor and wobbled when you sat on it. The walls and windows were covered in cobwebs and dirt. The kitchen cabinet doors were falling off and one completely came apart in 3 pieces when opened. There were no batteries in the remote so we couldn’t watch TV, the towels were stained, and the air filter light was flashing on the furnace and was filthy and hadn’t been changed in quite some time. No one even bothered to sweep off the sidewalk entrance which was covered in several inches of leaves and a tripping hazard for some of our guests with mobility issues. Overall, it was the worst rental I have ever stayed in. ##### Rachel C. What a perfect spot within town. Quiet, secluded, while still being close to everything. The house was clean when we arrived and we had zero issues during our stay. Thank you! ##### Brayton M. Thank God I didn't take my wife with me or i would likely be getting septated. The place wreaks of mold damage and is likely infested with it. The minute i walked into the washroom i was able to find where the water smell was coming from. All over the floor behind the toilet. I notified the owner right away. 8pm the next night i got a message that the plumber could not make it. As a licensed Illinois plumber I know that finding a plumber to set a toilet is not hard, especially on a Wednesday. After several more things went wrong on my stay the final straw was at 8am when the neighbor informed me that I had to vacate the property because he was having his tree cut down. I was informed that if i didn't leave I would be liable if the tree crushed me. The owner assured me that I would be getting my full refund "in writing". The owner has still yet to give me a refund. ##### Lou M.
