No Internet

Posted 31-Aug-2017
Cons: Get the wifi system fixed.
I was never able to get internet. This hotel advertises free wifi, but the hotel was nearly full so even at 6:00pm I couldn't get online. I spent my entire stay getting messages saying the system was at capacity. A trip to the front desk didn't help. Even the next morning, when many guests had probably checked out, I couldn't get online. And this was a Tuesday night. If you require internet access DO NOT stay here.

Good location.

They told us at check-in that the breakfast bar was open on weekends until 10:00am, but when we went down to breakfast bar at 9:05am, it was already cleaned off and closed. There was another 3 people after us that had the same experience. Also, the WiFi did not work. Server was overloaded and not strong enough signal!!!

Need better communication

Posted 28-Aug-2017
Good hotel, nice room, friendly staff. Just one problem with the continental breakfast. At check-in the night before, we were told breakfast was until 10am. The next morning we go down to the lobby/dining area around 9:45-9:50 and everything was already closed. The desk clerk, a different person this time, told us that breakfast closed at 9am. We told him that we were told during check-in that breakfast went to 10am, and he apologized but stated that sometimes the times would change suddenly. That was very disappointing because little things like the breakfast was one of the main reasons I chose your hotel. I think better communication and consistency is needed to avoid situations like this. Your staff needs to be on the same page about hotel amenities. If one staff tells me breakfast goes to 10am, then that needs to be true. Thanks!

You get what you pay for

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Pros: The staff and breakfast
Cons: Improvement on the attention to detail would be on the top of my list...the towels, the TV, the code for the wifi, the soiled chair.
Location: that was fine
The hotel lobby and grounds were fine as was the hotel staff. But when I checked-in they had to send someone to see if my room was ready. It wasn't! The TV didn't Work and some towels were missing and the chair in the room was dirty and stained. They also didn't let me know there was a code for the wifi. I tried to be understanding when they moved me to another room but the remote on the TV wasn't working and there were NO towels etc. Beyond the room, the breakfast offering was fine and the person at the desk was helpful.

Not sorry

Posted 23-Aug-2017
You think I stayed at this Baymont but I didn't. When I arrived I was told they had overbooked and that although I had a guaranteed reservation, there was no room for me. They did nothing to find me another accommodation. The staff was dismissive.

not a great hotel

Posted 23-Aug-2017
room smelled and was dreary and looked old. no ice machine on my floor. no hot breakfast as advertised; was undergoing kitchen renovation. no maintenance on site for 7 am issue. but king bed was comfortable and I found ice machine on a different floor. check in/out was easy and quick. shower and bathroom were clean. easy access on/off I 74 and great location for shopping and food.

Could be...

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Pros: Location, price
Could be nicer. Just needs the details taken care of. Just a bit better cleaning, just a bit better workmanship, etc....

gross

Posted 22-Aug-2017
Pros: The lady working the front desk had a lot if stressed out customers, but remained calm and efficient as possible.
Cons: Cleanliness, lighting, more staff, air purifiers? Or no smoking in the halls. Update old dingy gross furniture and wet stretched out caroet
The whole experience was not good. There was only one staff member the working on the night before the eclipse. There was a huge line, and many people not getting rooms they had paid for. The lady working the front desk was professional, but it took ages and I was really nervous we wouldn't get our room. I also was worried if we didn't put our stuff in right away it might be given away as she had to send people up to see if rooms were empty before giving them. The place seemed dingy and depressing. The hall reeked of smoke. Our key stopped working when we returned and we freaked that they had given our room away even though we had put stuff in there. The room was big, but the fold out couch was really grossly stained brown all over. And my husband ended up sleeping on the floor instead. As it seemed cleaner. If there were rooms available anywhere else, we would have left.

Owners do not care about their employees or guest.

Management at this sub par motel left a new employee as the only person working after their computer crashed on what is probably the biggest night they could have (the night before the eclipse). I cannot say enough good things about the young lady behind the desk who had to deal with a long line of customers and no information about rooms status without physically checking out the room. She did a fantastic job and should be working for someone who can appreciate her devotion and skills.
