Beautiful location, and we liked that it was a 10-15 walk into town. It's a steep walk, but easy in regular footwear. Really well appointed room - obviously in chalet style, and had everything that was needed. The restaurant was excellent - though I'm not a massive fan of tasting menu's - which was the only option. Everything served up was excellent though, and the service was very good. We tripped a breaker (all our power went out), but they were able to fix it quickly. We also said we might be a touch late for checkout and if they could just hold our luggage which they did. Before booking, we understood from expedia reviews that it is not actually in town but in a quiet semi rural area, 700 meters up a steep hill from the edge of town. It was raining. Taxis were 25€. We usually drove 800 m to Parking d‘Outa at the margin of the center of town The rooms are nice. Breakfast is great. Our room had a small garden where we could sit and have a coffee and stare at Mont Blanc and watch the sun and moon light the peaks. The room is cozy and the bathroom has a whirlpool type bathtub. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Auberge is up the mountain and we like to walk so loved it. The village center is a 15 minute walk down the hill so you must walk back up the hill lol!
