Staff friendly and helpful. My first room smelt musty, was dated and there was a leak from the toilet. My room was changed really quickly. Sadly, the second room was worse. Musty again, a huge stain on the carpet, covered by a bath mat, bathroom sealant was mouldy. It wasnt dirty but it felt it. Ths bed linen was clean. I didnt stay my second night. I'd say the rooms desperately need a refurb. Our international flight got delayed, but we made it to The White Hart with 3 hours of our reservation left. The front desk was very accommodating (albeit surprised when we showed go and still wanted our room). We were able to nap for 2 hours, shower, and enjoy a delightfully delicious breakfast, which they cooked for us outside of the normal breakfast hours. Our only reason for staying in Chalfont St Giles was to visit Miltonā€™s Cottage. First table we sat at for dinner had ants running all over it so we had to move. Staff were fantastic however, and very helpful. They couldnā€™t do enough for us - we were checking out very early and they offered to pull a breakfast together for us. The rooms were a little tired but very clean. The lights in the bedroom were not independent so I had to walk to the door if I wanted to switch my bedside light off. It was a very high step into the shower which had a fairly slippy floor. The staff in the pub were lovely and very helpful.
