I would definitely recommend this hotel. I booked it because I wanted to use Bologna as a base to explore other places and wanted to be near the train station. (50 mins to Verona, 35 mins to florence) I was pleasantly surprised how quiet and comfortable the hotel was. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. In addition the centre of Bologna is about 15 - 20 minutes walk along the Via Dell'indepenza (good for shopping). There are also many buses along this road for when feet start hurting. It is worth knowing that as a women who travels on my own I felt very safe around Bologna - this is not always the case around train stations in other cities.

The hotel was quite nice, but a bit basic. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room, so had to buy them at the bar, I asked for a cup of hot water as I had a teabag with me and was charged a euro for this, which I thought was a bit steep. They had a selection of all you can eat buffet in the evening, but being a vegetarian we thought there might not be enough for me, so we ate out. When we returned, the hotel was hugely busy so it is obviously a popular event, There was not much for vegetarians, so we had made the right decision, but there was a lovely atmosphere so we had a nice drink in the bar. There were quite a lot of cake and pastry desserts, which we saw were served the next day at breakfast time. Wouldnt probably go here if I wanted something special, but it was nice enough and good value, so would stay if I was in Bologna again. I think not being able to have a drink in your room was the worst thing, because it was so hot. Well placed to visit the city.

Great location and very easy to find. Its directly opposite the train station and the airport bus drops you off right outside. Was walk in to the centre of Bologna. As an added bonus the hotel has beautiful gardens, very nice and relaxing after a full day sightseeing and shopping!
The location was great for walking to the town center, good restaurants and the train. The carpeting needed cleaning and was well worn. Some lights were missing. The staff was great - very helpful. Location was quiet.

Location is convenient to the central train station, less so to places of interest to tourists, but not bad. Restaurant staff were very nice, restaurant was decent. Front desk staff were a little mixed, but two in particular provided excellent service. Room was comfortable, but we are surprised not to see anyone mentioning the very odd showers. The shower was open (as in, just one small glass wall, no doubt to fit the hotel's very contemporary and minimalist design), so water splashed everywhere even when the shower head was pointed away from the open space. Trying to avoid spraying water everywhere made getting ready in the morning a little more challenging than it needs to be. Other than that minor quibble, no complaints.
We spent six nights at this hotel; three at the beginning of our trip and three at the end. We stayed during very hot weather but the room was efficiently air conditioned and the stay was very pleasant.
Bologna Centrale, the Central Station, is one of Italy's busiest transit hubs. Here, high-speed and traditional rail lines connect to destinations such as Milan, Rome, and Paris. The station is just a short walk from the city's historic center, less than 2 km from University of Bologna, and less than 3 km from the trade fair district. Aerobus shuttles link the station to the airport, 6 km away.
