WIFI | Games Room | Lake View & Lake Access | 2 Pet Allowed Located on a spacious lot with plenty of room to run around both inside and out, this cottage offers a games room with a Ping Pong table for extra fun. Enjoy brand new stairs leading to a wide, expansive beach that brings back childhood memories – a rare find! While the cottage retains its rustic charm, the kitchen, living area, and bathroom have all been recently upgraded. NOTE: NO AC or HEAT INSIDE The main floor features a spacious living room where everyone can gather. Cuddle up on the couch for a movie with Grandma, with a Smart TV that includes Netflix for your viewing pleasure. The games room offers a Ping Pong table for added fun. The newly updated kitchen boasts all new modern appliances, and the dining area provides ample space to enjoy your family treats together. Note: Please look closely at the pictures - you will see the floors upstairs are plywood. WIFI - is spotty - DO NOT EXPECT INTERNET HERE but we have provided a selection of DVD's OUTSIDE Enjoy games on the huge grassy lot, where you can play yard games or find your favorite spot for those treasured holiday naps. Kids will love playing "Pirates" in the new tent – it's super fun! We've supplied two kayaks and a paddleboard, along with five lifejackets, so you can challenge the kids to a race. At night, share laughter and stories around the campfire. Take approx. 75 steps down the brand new stairs to a wide expansive beach that we all remember from our childhoods-rare to find with the erosion and high lake levels! You'll easily spend the day on the beach or cooling off in the water. SLEEPING SPACES Sleeps 12 guests in 6 bedrooms so everyone can have a bit of privacy \-- Main Floor Bedrooms -- Bedroom 1: Double bed and Single Bed overlooking the beautiful lake. Clan Gregor Square is the heart of our quaint community where many local festivals/carshows and you won't want to miss the farmers market in season. Pioneer Park is another local favorite—kids will love cooling down at the splash pad. There's always something happening here, whether it's morning yoga or artists painting the sunset. You're just 2 minutes from the Bluewater Golf Club. We're happy to suggest our favorite local spas, wineries and breweries, including Hessenland Inn & Schatz Winery and Bad Apple Brewing Co. With wooded trails, scenic country vistas and stunning Lake Huron, Bayfield is a beautiful place to explore no matter the season. The cottage was the quintessential lake side getaway. Upon arrival our host Jennifer had provided us with everything we would need for the perfect weekend. There was a nice welcome package including some local coffee and information about the area.The cottage was clean, cozy and close to the beautiful town of Bayfield. Our family enjoyed days along beautiful Lake Huron and nights around the campfire. It reminded me of my childhood cottage time in a wood cottage in Muskoka. I loved the wood interior and the thoughtful layout of the cottage. We had 3 couples and 2 kids stay during our time and we all had our own space. It was nice to have a couple bedrooms on the main level so that we had our own area. The house is situated at the edge of the woods and a ravine and feels quite private. The kids loved the "fort" on the deck and of course we all loved the beach. The beach was beautiful, with a sandbar about 20 feet out in the water to stand. The bonus of a lakeside property is that the beach is private. I am a big sunset person and I lucked out and was able to see a sunset every night of my stay. If you stay at Sandy Edge, open up your windows at night and listen to the waves lull you asleep. Jennifer was an excellent host, in contact before and during our stay. We were missing some paddles and life jackets and she came by with new ones! Some practical notes: there is no air conditioning- open up the windows and run the fans. We brought a couple extra fans to stay comfortable. The kitchen is new and beautiful, but bring your own BBQ tools, cheese grater and marshmallows roasting sticks for the firepit. There is no washer or dryer on site. We did our big grocery shopping in Goderich at Walmart and used Bayfield Foodland for a few essentials. It is nice to be situated between both towns. Bayfield berry farm was fun to explore. ##### Cheryl M. The cottage is the perfect balance of rustic and equipped, and the beach is amazing. Bring water shoes to get past the \~20 feet of rock and play in the waves on the huge sandbar. Our kids are 5 and 7 and had a great time. We enjoyed the kayak and paddle boards, you may want to bring your own life jackets are sizes at the cottage are limited. We enjoyed bonfires on the beach, playing in the waves, and exploring charming Bayfield, only a 5 minute drive away. Would definitely rent again. ##### Maggie D. The cottage is very spacious and the owners are doing a great job with renovations and upgrades. With 7 bedrooms and two living areas on the main level, there is a lot of space to be together and apart when needed. Stepping into the backyard, you are greeted with amazing views of Lake Huron. From here you can continue down the beautiful staircase that opens up onto a massive private beach with panoramic views. Some days it feels as if you are in Mexico and not Ontario! The outdoor space makes up for iit. The sandy beach the waves the turquoise water the blazing sun and out of this world sunsets is better than anywhere in Ontario.
