This hotel was in a good location, it was clean, and it was a decent price. The breakfast was a little lackluster, but otherwise, The American Inn served our needs well.

Not great, not terrible. It was fine. It is an older building that could use some updates, but staff was friendly, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the AC worked. Breakfast was very basic. It think it is fine for what it is.

King bed room was clean, very large and roomy. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom had a strong fan to easily remove steam.

Recent reviews of this hotel are misleading
I not sure where the people who posted the most recent stays for this hotel stayed, but it wasn't here or they looked past the glaring deficiencies in the hotel. The room I stayed in was musty smelling and needed updating. The desk chair was gross as all the leatherette material was peeling off. There was a place for a sofa that was missing. The outside and interior of the hotel was most definitely NOT recently remodeled. I would never stay here again.

Room was very lsrge, updated. No couch in king room, lots of open space. Nothing was mentioned the pool was out of order and looking at the pool area, will NOT be open any time soon.

NCAA tournament
This is truly a hidden gem among all the poplar hotel brands. After reading all the reviews, I decided to book a two night stay for an event at the Alliant Powerhouse. It didn’t disappoint. Room was spacious and immaculate. No complaints at all. Breakfast was your basic waffles, cereal, fruit and juice, and coffee. Overall, a pleasant stay. Area is safe and near restaurants and well lit.

This hotel was immaculate. I had read a review about the beds and they were comfortable as reviewed. The hotel was quiet, clean and peaceful. The owners were on site and went above and beyond. Other hotels should take notice and follow their lead.

Pleasantly surprised. Nice, clean little hotel where they are obviously trying to make improvements. Breakfast area was new & very nice, as were room furnishings. Good breakfast, including hot waffles.
