Remodeled late 2020 w/ an updated, but cozy feel. Restored, original wood floors from 1929 throughout, as well as the exposed chimney and cupboards in the kitchen. Your loaded kitchen also features butcher block counters, stainless steel appliances, tile backsplash, open shelving, Keurig, traditional coffee pot, toaster oven, and anything else you might need to make a meal for yourself while you enjoy your stay. The remodeled bathroom & laundry room features ceramic tile floors & a bluetooth fan with speakers to hook your music up to as you enjoy your time to yourself getting ready for whatever your day might bring. Not only do you have your own, private W/D in the laundry room, but be sure to check out the shelves full of approximately 30 different board games, puzzles, and decks of cards to entertain yourselves on your nights in. In the bedroom, there is a sitting area to relax and watch your favorite program on the Firetv/smart tv, so bring your passwords for your favorite streaming apps! The owner had a great selection of visitors materials and town history. We learned about the 2020 derecho and 2008 flood. We chose to go to the Kernels game based on what we read— and loved it. If you have a long stay you’ll enjoy the washer and dryer, but I missed having a place to unpack. My husband and I needed a place to stay overnight while relocating from Tennessee to Minnesota and this cozy home gave us a night of much needed rest. Very clean and great communication from the owner, Krystal. I'd add a place to hang clothes and a full size mirror in the bedroom but other than that everything was perfect. House was equipped with the essentials and a few extras, really knew how to treat a guest! Our welcome board was a nice touch. Highly recommend staying here! ##### Karla W. Oct 9, 2025 Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy First, we didn't receive our check-in instructions until after noon on the day of arrival, which made planning unnecessarily stressful. Once we got in, the house temperature was set at 83F making it extremely uncomfortable. Despite waiting for 4 hours, the temperature never improved even after adjusting the thermostat. On top of that, the bathroom windows had only sheer curtains, offering no privacy specially at night when anyone outside could easily see in. Due to the heat and lack of privacy, we had no choice but to leave the property. The host initially agreed to refund us (this is in writing) which we appreciated. However, since then, communication has been non-existent. I've been trying to resolve this with Verb for a month, but the property owner remains unresponsive, and Vrbo's customer service has been frustratingly slow.You have to constantly call just to get basic updates. Overall, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. I would not recommend this property or Vrbo's support - based on how this situation was handled. ##### Rowena L. My husband and I stayed in this charming little cottage in Cedar Rapids to watch our son play tennis for Coe College. Our hosts communication and hospitality were by far the best we've ever experienced from VRBO hosts! The cottage itself had all the little things you love but don't necessarily expect when traveling, like a basket of "extras" in the bathroom in case you forgot something, snacks and water in the fridge, books about Cedar Rapids (I read about the flood of 2008 and the Derecho of 2020 on our down time). They were also quickly responsive to all our questions. Highly recommend! ##### Amy O.
