This romantic little cottage is one of the last of its kind. Built on stilts on the edge of the sea wall, the tide literally comes up underneath the cottage. At high tide you can hear the lapping of the gentle waves against the pilings. Access to the house is easy. The driveway leads right up to the cottage with parking for one vehicle underneath. The view from Cove Cottage is what makes it the treasure that it is. From anywhere in the cottage with its many windows one can see the Sea. To the right is the beach maintained by the City. Also here is the city park. Then across the water is the nearby Dock Street with its many restaurants and shops and the boat ramps. Then there is the open Gulf of Mexico with Atsena Otie island not far from shore. Guests at Cove Cottage have commented that staying in the Cottage is like staying on a houseboat. At high tide you\`ve water on three sides of the house. The front deck faces the Gulf and has comfortable seating for four and is a favorite place for watching the fishing boats, clammers boats, kayakers and tour boats coming and going throughout the day. Well equipped and move in ready. Cove has a full kitchen, full bath with shower, private bedroom with a queen size bed. Spacious living room with comfortable seating and a waterfront dining area. There is also a murphy bed with a queen size mattress for extra sleeping room. We have wif-fi and two tvs. Yes we allow ONE small dog under 20 lbs for a $50 fee. We offer use of one kayak, paddles and associated PFDs. There is also a hose and a fish cleaning sink/table under the house. In a world of cookie cutter accommodations, the Cove Cottage is a unique experience from which memories are made. \-Please be respectful of the neighbors and the area you are staying \-Do not trespass on other people\`s property, this includes docks and driveways \-Please be careful where you park, don\`t block people in, use neighbors property, park on the sidewalk or impede traffic \-Parties and/or events are not allowed \-No smoking inside or within 10 feet of doors or windows $250 fine if the property smells of smoke \-Unauthorized pets will result in a $250 fine for each animal \-$150/person/day fee for over occupancy limit \-Please don’t eat or drink anything besides water in the bedroom \-Quiet hours 10 pm to 7 am per local Noise Ordinance \-Please respect the check-in and check-out times. $500 for each 4 hours, or portion unauthorized thereof, of early check-in and late checkout. \-Guests are responsible for any damage they cause. There were golf carts waiting by the airport for us to get around on the island. A flight following service had lost contact with us so the police showed up to make sure we were okay. How nice! It was easy to find our cottage and we couldn’t have been more pleased! It was clean, had everything we needed and was absolutely charming! Better than the pictures. The complementary kayaks were a highlight of our trip because we went out every day and paddled up to the dolphins. Easy keyless check in. The cottage had everything we needed. It was clean and cute. Apr 24, 2024 Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy #### A place to hide! Peaceful and beautiful place to hide for a couple of days. Disappointed that most silverware and plates were stored dirty. Couldn't find additional towels because they were dry inside the washer (we were there to relax, not to fold towels or clean kitchen). Surprised that an envelope was placed asking for tips (first time seeing that on any of the properties we have stayed). We were asked to take trash out but not outside trash cans. After 2 weeks, we are still waiting for management to answer were to take the trash. Communication and cleanliness are major factors to work with! ##### Zulma S. We recently stayed at this home, and while it had its positives, there were some notable drawbacks.The home itself was clean, well-equipped, and boasted a stunning ocean view. Check-in was straightforward, and the residents were friendly and welcoming.However, we encountered some issues. The floors were noticeably sloping, which wasn't disclosed prior to our rental. The driveway was frequently blocked by construction workers' vehicles from the neighboring property.We also had trouble spending time outside due to the poor condition of the patio chairs - one out of the 2 chairs, even broke under my partner's weight. Although, we contacted the management company, there was no resolution, hence leaving us to stand on the front patio. The yard was often used by others to take in the ocean view, which compromised our privacy.Additionally, the garbage can was located about 200 feet away from the home, in front of another building, making daily trash disposal inconvenient.While the home had its charm, the ongoing construction just 15 feet from our front steps generated excessive noise and dust, detracting from our overall experience. ##### Lady V D. Check-in was easy, and the kitchen well stocked with essential cooking tools. Lots of space inside to lounge and read when not enjoying the sights from the deck.
