Brilliant family stay
Excellent location to stay in Castelsarado. Room was fantastic for three of us. Breakfast offering was okay but not great. The pool area was fabulous and the beach is minutes away!

Lovely hotel by the beach
We stayed here on our honeymoon. It is a great location right in front of the beach with easy access to restaurants and shopping. The staff was very nice and welcoming. We also booked a couples massage at the spa which was very enjoyable.

Place smelled heavily of cleaning products. Bed sheets were an unusual material that clung to my skin and felt damp all the time. Unbelievably noisy: it’s like they amplify every sound and pump it into your room. I pre-paid for 3 nights but checked out after 1. I chose to pay for a second hotel rather than stay at this one.

Awful place
This is not a 4 star hotel. It may have spa facilities and a pool but the rest of the hotel is out dated and very basic. Plastic disposable type glasses, one sheet covering only the top of the mattress so it couldn’t be tucked in meaning that in the night I ended up sleeping on the revolting plastic top of the mattress. Breakfast awful. I booked a room with a balcony that looked like it had been in a war zone. Do not use this hotel.

Staff particularly the receptionist on duty when we arrived was not welcoming. Told me she had been watching me on cctv and asked if I was a client. Parking €10 per day seems excessive. She scolded me again when I went to look on the dining room and told me I was not supposed to be in there due to a private function and I was to come out immediately and close the door behind me! How rude !!Breakfast ok but nothing special. Not fresh juice but strong squash. Probably would not stay again as I do not feel it was value for money. No view from rooms, just wall of next building. Booked 2 rooms but not located close to each other. The one room had a smell like bad drains. Other was ok. No tea making facility. Not 4 star in my view

The restaurant has incredible views of the beach, sunset and town. The town square is just up the hill along a street with many shops, including the Chinese store (Macao) that had everything, including a plug adaptor that worked with my US MacBook Air. Pool was very nice, but the spa is apparently booked days in advance, so no massage for me. Piera at reception was welcoming and wonderful.

Amazing views
Amazing choice for Castelsardo. Beach seconds away. Great pool and spa. Room with sea view (also on lovely town and its castle) was awesome. Superb choice for this town

Small room and hotel policies need updating
Felt they weren’t interested in customer service. They asked us to pay €10 a night to park the car. But we found a park on the street nearby but when we walked thru their car park most of the parks were empty. There was no coffee making facility in room but a coffee machine in breakfast room. But you couldn’t help yourself to a self service machine during our stay only at breakfast or when dining. The room was small for 3 of us but had a large balcony. We asked to be upgraded to a Seaview room and they charged us €30 a night more even though the hotel was pretty empty and the fee we had already paid was quite expensive already for the facilities. You would be best booking something up the castle area as the local area around this hotel is average.

Nice hotel close to the town
A good holiday base. A little noisy as near to the main road. No sunshine on the balcony as room faced north. Food expensive and breakfast a bit limited. Car parking charges a bit unnecessary.

Lovely place to catch your breath
The staff in this hotel were completely delightful. Everyone was so friendly and efficient. The view of Castelsardo was superb, and being lulled to sleep by the sound of crashing waves was a real delight. It has a really nice spa and swimming pool. Small but classy. We had a great time.

Enjoyable Stay
Lovely, comfortable hotel in good location for town and surrounding area. Decent pool and no issues with getting sunbeds. Castelsardo is a great town with its castle and old town rising above the rest of the town. It has some great restuarants and really comes alive in the evening.

A four day adventure following the Rally D'Italia
A great three night stay in the North of Sardinia. A good location for scenic runs along the coast and into the mountains. We enjoyed the old town and its museum in the castle. We arrived at Orvia port and left from Porto Torres, not far from Castelsardo.

Half term break
The hotel had a lovely position opposite the small sandy bay, with a good view of the castle and on the coast road. A modern, clean hotel with air conditioning and TV included, but no tea making facility or safe in the room. The restaurant at the hotel gave a 10% discount on evening meals and this was a good price, however the food was obviously Sardinian with little European food choices ! All pasta, fish or pork no chicken or pizza. This was a little difficult as the only other place to eat was another hotel restaurant as at this time of year from October to April all restaurant's, villas and most hotels are closed. Just a few scattered English tourists and a few other European tourists.

Great place by water and with great view to the old city. We had a massage and used the spa as well and that was very good though having to pay extra for using the spa was a bit weird when staying at hotel plus being limited to only two hours use. I think hotel would benefit from lowering that price and time limit gor guests as it would lead yo more use of soa and the paid services such as massage.

Nice hotel in a nice town
Castelsardo is worth a couple of days of staying. Nice town and a lot of nice views. We hade dinner on the restaurant accross the street. The food is not worth the money. You pay for the view. Will recommened the hotel bar where you can enjoy a drink and the view. Don´t forget to spend some time at the nice pool. Good parking facilities.

Great Hotel
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Riviera. Our room was very comfortable with a fabulous view of the castle and the sea. We were well looked after and appreciated Piera's excellent English. The only thing that let them down was the quality of the breakfast which was adequate, but could have been so much better for very little extra cost.

Hotel Riviera, One night was one too many ??.
This Hotel is supposed to be a 4 Star, I would not give it 3. Arrived in the evening and parked on the street across from the hotel. Booked into reception ok and was given a voucher for 10% off in restaurant of hotel. Went up to see room, to discover we were in a smallish room which faced on to a courtyard with buildings across the way about 10 metres away, to put it mildly it was not the best of views. Bathroom was fairly small and antiquated and shower door consisted of a plastic shower curtain { room and bathroom was clean } In the morning went down to Breakfast, and what a letdown. The choice was a plastic glass in which I poured a bottle of orange juice. There was no toast available. Cereal was a small {very small} plastic packet of corn flakes. Tea supplied was lemon flavoured, which we did not like. I informed the waitress that I required Boiling water for my own tea bags which I got from our room. I put my tea bags in to the pot to discover that the water was not boiling, I was persuaded not to make an issue of anything. On checking out there was a gentleman on duty in reception and he was helpfull in phoning a Hotel in Alghero where we wanted to make a booking for that night.

Besides the altercation at checkin, I was dissapointed when I was informed that I could not make use of the carpark after Monday (2 days after my arrival) because they were going to do some work on it. The work turned out to be digging up the carpark, with work starting at 7:50 every morning and continued intermittently throughout the day not very pleasant at all to be woken up so early by a digger

Hotel Riviera Castelsardo excellent choice
We were very happy with our recent stay at Hotel Riviera Castelsardo. The location couldn't be better- beach right across the street and adjacent to the historic areas of Castelsardo. Staff were very friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable.

Mixed feelings
My first impressions of the hotel were that it had seen better days and looked a bit tired. We occupied a room with a balcony on the front of the hotel looking out to the sea and castle, all very nice. The only drawback of being of that side of the building was the level of noise coming from the road below however it is something you become accustomed to after a while. Unfortunately during our stay we also became aware of tiny flecks of plaster work falling down onto the balcony (daily) which prevented us from enjoying the full benefits of sitting on the balcony with any food or drink. To end this review on a positive note, the cleaning standards at the Hotel Riveria are very high and the bathroom facilties were spotless. We also found the hotel staff were friendly/helpful so overall we did enjoy our stay there.

Good Location reasonably priced
Castelrado is a lovely little town, the old town especially. It's quite busy outside and around the hotel so if you are a light sleeper you may want to request a quite room. Parking in Castlerado is a nightmare but the hotel has its own but very small car park which was actually a big plus for us after having receievd a parking ticket in another town. The staff are more than helpful. We only stayed two nights and did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment there but we did have a drink one evening which turned out to be rather expensive compared to other places.

Lovely 3 star Hotel
We have just come back from a lovely holiday in Sardinia. We were positvely surprised with the cleanliness and great size of our room. If you have the chance book a room with a seaview as they have more light although they could have more noise as they look onto the maini road. Overall we had a very pleasent time here. The only thing they could improve is the service at the reception. They just took our passports and hardly spoke a word even though I do speak Italian. Seems the norm in Sardinia though. But I recomend this hotel!

Excellent affordable convenient small hotel
We stayed here for a week in mid July. Hotel is very pleasant, full of attractive Sardinian art, good bar pleasant restaurant both with verandas overlooking the beach/bay. Rooms very simply furnished but importantly air conditioned - it was very hot whilst we were there. Staff are very helpful although only some spoke good English (generally Sardinia is good for improving your Italian!) Most of all for what is essentially quite a pricey island it was an afforable option 15 metres from a small beach (that was never crowded) in a lovely little seaside town (Castelsardo).

Cute little hotel
A very nice three star hotel. The single rooms are a bit small, but the hotel is well maintained, the bathrooms are decent sized and spotless, and the common facilities, including local artwork on the walls, very very pleasant. The hotel staff is very attentive, and the restaurant is actually very good. There is also free parking on a dirt road adjacent to the hotel, a big plus in this crowded little town. The hotel is at the bottom of the hill, across the street from the beach, so be prepared to climb up the hill if you want to explore the old city and castle. All in all, an outstanding place to stay in this enchanting little town.
