Was upgraded to their nwest room with huge windows. It was qlabout a 10 minute walk from room to main office/ parking The hiking trails there were amazing. They carried our bags in and out for us witch was great!!! Lots of fun small craft stores. Would love to spend a few extra days and explore this area. It was way better! We were lucky to book on a lonely weekend so we were upgraded for free! We enjoyed a superb bungalow with so many cool gadgets and surroundings. This time we had the chance to walk through the trails and had a great time getting to know the property. We enjoyed the restaurant and especially the views from the rooms (we had 3, and all were incredible). It is a bit of a walk through the cloud forest to the rooms, but there is help for luggage, and it's exactly the kind of walk you come to Costa Rica to take! We were in cabin 14and was literally living in the jungle with floor to ceiling windows. So peaceful to watch nature with our own viewing deck. Excellent restaurant and staff were great. We went in late march and it was very cool being at higher altitude so maybe take a jacket. The room was amazing with the full windows, the jacuzzi bath and nice bed. The food was fabulous. The restaurant serves a lovely breakfast too. But the rooms weren’t clean and they needed some repairs. Lots of insects and cobwebs in corners. Our room was big and comfortable with breathtaking views but it was right up against the main road so we heard traffic noise all day and night. It was super cozy and very quiet. We were visited by many hummingbirds on our little deck. The restaurant was top notch - very pretty and intimate and the food was amazing. It was a great place for bird watching at breakfast and lunch. I really wanted a way to open a screened window for a cool, natural breeze and to listen to bird song, while still being able to lock the doors. It was quieter than expected given the proximity of the road (very few cars travel it), but also a little less private that I desired with the other guests walking by. This is an amazing property with a large natural areas with hiking trails. The trail levels would be moderate and difficulty, but it is really nice to be with trees and natures. Excellent services, staff are warm, friendly and helpful. Excellent dinner menu with very reasonable prices. Humming bird feeder brought nice visitors. The bird and nature guide (Carlos) booked through the lodge was excellent. I booked a forest room. Was not aware it was at least 500 yds up a steep incline. I could not make it. Very friendly receptionist glory moved us to another room near the restaurant which was small but ok. However we had to move a little while later as lady who had originally booked it would not accept the alternative.
