You won't find closer accommodations to the water for miles. Not only are you a few feet from the sea, you are a hundred yards from surf shops, restaurants and boutiques . You can rent surfboards, paddle boards, take surf lessons, or grab breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of the locals spots on Santa Claus Lane without ever getting in your car. The Sea Lofts are the premier beach destination for Santa Barbara. You can walk for miles at low tide, or just sit on the deck and watch the sunset. The well appointed Surf Loft has a king bed and full bath that is handicap accessible. It is spacious, with a full kitchenette. Two things to note, the AmTrak train is 30 feet away and passes at 7:00 am. not a problem the rest of the day. Was fun waving at the passengers. And the highway is a bit close too. The door locks were finicky, but the overall vibe of the area/neighborhood made me feel safe, and somewhat comfortable not being able to lock my doors. The efficiency is very clean, well decorated , large comfortable sectional, large bathroom, lovely robes, nice dishes, good view in a small beach community. It was very good for a few night stays given we attended a wedding. Microwave and fridge are good for a few grocery items and take out. Freezer would be nice, or ice available. The beach is very lovely but I didn't feel compelled to walk as often as I normally do, because of the rocks you have to climb. It's not a big obstacle but I can see how it would be with small children and beach equipment. The train that goes by for 15 seconds a few times a day is not a big deal, in fact I thought lovely, remi niscent of the old santa fe or Polar express. The Sea Loft is the ideal beach retreat - it is Nirvana! From the sounds of the pounding surf to the stunning ocean views, the loft is well appointed, beautifully decorated & so very comfortable. The outside space is just as inviting, sitting in the comfy chaise loungers enjoying the ocean breeze & watching the sun set was heaven on Earth. To top it all off, we loved the quick walk to Padaro Beach Grill for great food along with easy drives to both Santa Barbara, Montecito & quaint Carpinteria. I cannot wait to return.
