Welcome to “Corner Penthouse”, a charming oceanfront retreat located on the top floor (third floor) of the Sands V condo complex in Carolina Beach. This spacious three-bedroom, two-bath condo comfortably sleeps up to eight guests and offers the perfect setup for a relaxing family getaway. The primary bedroom and living room both open directly to a large oceanfront deck—ideal for enjoying morning coffee, al fresco dining, or simply soaking up the breathtaking coastal views. The primary and second bedrooms each feature cozy Queen beds, the third bedroom includes two Twin beds, and there's a convenient sleeper sofa in the living room to accommodate additional guests. Guests will enjoy easy access to the beach via a private walkover, as well as the refreshing street-side pool—perfect for cooling off after a day in the sun. The Sands V complex is centrally located between Carolina and Kure Beaches, placing you just moments away from all the best that Pleasure Island has to offer. I understand completely that there is only 1 vehicle per unit allowed - even though the property was clearly not at capacity the week we stayed - however, when I called for a possible solution the rental company was "0" help and more or less told me - it was my problem to figure out. We had never stayed in this area before and had no clue what to do and they were very quick to offer NO help whatsoever. We’d have no real complaints about our stay aside from the fact that most of the dishes/cups in the cupboards were visibly dirty and all had to be rewashed before use. There are several things, though, of which you should be aware before considering renting this unit. And, each of these are listed in the info, but we sort of glossed over or didn’t realize the impact that they would have on our stay. 1\. This is a 3rd story unit with no elevator. After a week, these steps became quite daunting carrying things up and down from the beach (coolers, bags, etc.). We had our elderly mother with us, and we thought she would be able to handle the steps much better than she was able. 2\. They list no washer/dryer in the unit. However, there IS a washer/dryer in the unit, but it has an out-of-order sign on it. It was frustrating to realize that after spending the amount that we did, along with every other renter week after week, that the owners/operators choose NOT to spend the money to buy and have installed a new combo. It is very inconvenient to not have a washer/dryer. 3\. Be aware that if you have more than one vehicle, you’ll have to spend 100 dollars to use a public parking spot for the week. Even though the unit sleeps 8, the HOA only assigns 1 pass per unit. As I said, the unit was great (though, some of the furniture could use updating) and we had a wonderful time. ##### Todd B. Not having a king size bed and no closet available for the master bedroom on the ocean was a bit disappointing. The view was spectacular. The tubs were stained and there was a pan and bowl soaking from the previous stay sitting on the counter when we arrived. We did live the option of having 3 bedrooms and the top floor was lovely. We didn’t have internet the entire last day but understood the mix up with the owner and the company. I would live to stay her again but sadly the queen master was just too small for my husband and I. Also it took the dryer 3 cycles to dry one load, I had to spend a lot of time on laundry. Fantastic location. Beautiful beach. ##### Emily M.
