Blocks from the beach, close to many ski resorts, Tahoe City and Kings Beach! A lovely town to visit anytime of year. The Space: The two-level log cabin in Carnelian Bay is a great place to stay while you enjoy North Lake Tahoe! No matter which time of year you visit, there are many nearby activities to enjoy! After a day of activities, relax in the warm living room or family room with cable TV for your entertainment pleasure, or play a board game, mah joong or start a puzzle. Feeling like cooking a home cooked meal? The kitchen is fully stocked with essential cookware and dishware. All 4 bedrooms are on the upper level, about 12 steps up. In the master bedroom is a queen bed. The second bedroom has a queen bed and a single. In the third bedroom are two sets of bunk beds. The smaller fourth bedroom has one set of bunk beds. The cabin can sleep up to 8 people. You're going to love it here! Guest Access: Entire Cabin The Neighborhood: The neighborhood of Agate Bay is a quiet neighborhood great for walking, hiking and biking! Only a few blocks from the National Forest Land, where you will find trails that lead to the Tahoe Rim Trail and beyond! The nearest beach is at the Tahoe Vista Recreation Area or Kings Beach less than 10 minutes away. There is also a mini golf facility, Magic Carpet golf less than 1 mile away, which is always fun for kids and adults. Old Brockway golf course is also less than 10 minutes away near the Safeway. The property is a quarter mile to Patton Beach in Carnelian Bay. Take in a hike through the forest to Brockway Summit for breathtaking panoramic views of the lake. Visiting during the winter? The choices are endless! The cabin is in close proximity to a few of the best ski resorts in the west! The closest is famed Northstar Ski Resort. Also close by is Squaw/Alpine, Homewood, and Diamond Peak. Enjoying skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and snow mobiles! A 20-minute drive south along the lake leads you to Tahoe City. The town is full of shops, galleries, museums and delicious restaurants. Getting Around: Closest highways are 28 and 267\. Visiting in the winter? Most ski resorts are within 20 - 30 minutes away.You have many choices of top resorts for winter activities! The casinos at Stateline are also within 15 minutes away too. My first and last experience with Vrbo was filled with frustration. The issues started before our arrival. I filled out multiple forms, confirmed there would be no parties, and ensured the cabin would be ready by the promised 3 PM check-in. The day before, I requested contact details for assistance but received a delayed response minutes before check-in time. The number provided led to a hotline no one answered. After battling traffic, we arrived to find a cleaning crew that wasn’t aware of the booking. They began cleaning at 2:51 PM. We requested to enter due to the cold, and they allowed us to sit inside while they cleaned, finishing around 4 PM, an hour past the promised check-in time. I reached out to Vrbo for compensation, requesting a late check-out. Their responses were vague apologies without addressing the issue. Attempts to escalate the matter were unsuccessful—no follow-up calls, no compensation. The house itself was disappointing. The heating only worked on the first floor, leaving the upstairs freezing. The bathroom door upstairs couldn’t be opened from the inside. Vrbo’s customer service offered apologies but no solutions. Property management is responsive via email. So so: beds and furnishings are on the older side. Mattresses need replacing. Picnic table shown in patio photo is not there. Bad: 1/2 roll toilet paper, no toiletries, and no laundry/dishwasher detergent. Dish soap was watered down. Should state BYO in ad. Property management team states will cancel your reservation if you do not provide ID & respond to their survey within a week of reserving. The location and sleeping arrangements were fantastic for our family. Unfortunately, the positive comments stop there. The cabin was filthy. Upon our arrival our seven year old found toys on the floor by the couch. Our 13 year old found multiple makeup items in the bedroom. The carpet and kitchen flooring was disgusting. The bedding looked like it had not been washed in years. I could go on about the cleanliness but you get the picture. Our family has stayed at many VRBO"s and has never experienced a place that is not stocked. We had 5 towels, 1 wash cloth, 1 kitchen towel, & 1/2 roll of paper towels left out for us. No spices, no salt or pepper to cook with. We had to purchase spices, paper towels, oil to cook with, among other items that are usually in a VRBO. Due to these issues we would definitely not recommend this place. ##### Shellisa W.
