Our villa is well located at the edge of a village, 20 kms West of Florence, in a beautiful and panoramic location with a fantastic view overlooking Florence. You can eat outside or swim in the pool with views over Florence and over the Medicean Villa "La Ferdinanda". The OUTDOOR POOL is private (4.50 m x 7.50 m x 1.20 m/h) and is to be shared only with our family. The pool is usually open from end of May until 20th of September, depending on the season. You can have access to the pool throughout the day. KINDLY NOTE: access to the pool is only allowed if you wear a swimming cap. LA SOLARIA APARTMENT: It is a nice apartment of 60 square meters, located on the ground floor of our villa. The apartment has a private garden and an independent entrance. It is composed of a large bedroom with a double bed (180x190 cm), a bright living-room with a well equipped kitchenette and a double sofa bed (180x190 cm), a bathroom with shower. The apartment overlooks the private garden where our guests can eat, sunbathe and rest and enjoy a magnificent landscape. The furniture is delicious and comfortable. Digital TV and Central Heating. FREE WIFI INTERNET. There is a safe parking outside the property (20-50 m). Kindly note: guests are not allowed to enter in the property with their car. The house is particularly well situated for touring around Florence and in Tuscany and it is therefore the ideal base for exploring the region. Nearest shops are within 2 kms: green grocer’s, pastry’s, bars, banks, a newsagent, stationer, haberdashery, hairdresser, electrician, laundry, post office, pharmacy (with the surgeries), restaurants, wine bar, pizzeria. Supermarkets in the nearby village of Poggio a Caiano (7 km) The area is interesting from an archaeological point of view and for its cultural history with the presence of Etruscan tombs and two famous Medici villas at Artimino and Poggio a Caiano nearby. In the Church of San Michele in Carmignano you can admire a famous painting: the "Visitazione" by Pontormo, a famous artist of the Renaissance whose paintings are also in the Uffizi Gallery and in the Louvre. The Museum of Leonardo da Vinci and his birthplace are 15 minutes away by car. The whole area is renowned for the production of wines famous all over the world. For sports lovers in the vicinity you can enjoy tennis, golf, horse riding and trekking. If you like hiking you can make excursions from our house because we are in the hiking trails. Being a rural community a car is necessary transport for convenience. There are also some public buses available connecting to Florence and Prato. KINDLY, NOTE: On line and self check-in on arrival. Großzügige, angenehme und hübsche Wohnung mit atemberaubendem Ausblick bis Florenz (Domkuppe ist erkennbar!). Perfekt zu Zweit. Parkplatz draußen neben dem Haus. Schwimmbecken (nicht beheizt) groß genug zum Schwimmen und sehr sauber gehalten. Der Garten ist traumhaft schön und sehr gepflegt. Unsere kleine Wohnung "Girasole" (unten mit Terrasse) ist nur über einen kurzen aber steilen Weg erreichbar. Für uns war das gar kein Thema aber es ist nicht für Leute geeignet, die schlecht zu Fuß sind. Wir waren zwei Wochen dort und bis auf die Moskitos vermissen wir alles! Aber die Wohnung hat eingebaute Fliegengitter. Ohne Auto macht es keinen Sinn. Alle Strecken sind, wie in der Toskana üblich, kurvig und berghoch oder runter. Supermarkt PAM unweit in Poggio a Caiano, wo auch sehr gute Restaurants zu finden sind. Für Florenz: Auto kann man am Bahnhof von Lastra a Signa (ca 20 Minuten Fahrt) kostenlos parken während man für € 2,60 gemütlich mit dem Zug nach Florenz fährt. Ich würde diese Wohnung und diese Gastgeber jederzeit weiterempfehlen. Für diese Gegend ist es ein super Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis. ##### Véronique M. C’est une région magnifique et il faudrait rester plus longtemps pour voir tous les joyaux de cette région. L’appartement est très bien et la vue est magnifique. Le calme permet de se ressourcer après les visites dans les villes. Rosella et son mari sont charmants et donnent de bons conseils pour la visite de la Toscane. Merci pour ce séjour enchanteur. Nous avons passé une merveilleuse semaine dans cet appartement qui est situé dans une propriété magnifique appartenant à des personnes très sympathiques et accueillantes. L'appartement est bien équipé, bien organisé, la literie ferme et très confortable, y compris le canapé, il y faisait frais malgré la canicule, et est très calme. Après les nombreuses découvertes à faire dans les alentours, une baignade dans la piscine est très agréable, de même que le farniente du matin sur la pelouse entre les lauriers, les citronniers et autres espèces... La voiture se gare sur le petit parking à côté du portail d'entrée, nous n'avons rencontré aucun problème de stationnement. L'appartement indépendant est en contrebas de la maison, une grande pente est à descendre, mais la vue est imprenable sur la campagne toscane. On se sent comme à la maison! Les conseils des propriétaires aident aussi pour les bons plans à faire, à voir,... Nous avons goûté les savoureuses pizzas du Circolo (asso locale), les vins du secteur dont ceux d'Artimino, visité Vinci (à faire absolument, le musée, le château, l'église et la maison natale de Léonard) petit village très pittoresque et agréable, peu de monde et proche; Florence bien sûr dont le centre est à 40 minutes en voiture (se garer au parking de la gare Santa Maria Novella, en plein centre), avec le Ponte Vecchio, la basilique, la Galerie des Offices ( réserver les musées sur internet avant de partir cela vous évitera des heures d'attente pour rien...), l'Officine de Sta Maria Novella, via della Scalla (ses parfums et son musée à faire absolument!), les boutiques,... et monter jusqu'à la piazzale Michelangelio et l'abbaye San Miniato pour assister à un beau coucher de soleil sur la ville. Sienne est magnifique, à 1h30 en voiture, un petit bijou qui est très agréable à vivre (parking Santa Cristina aux pieds de la cité puis prenez l'escalator pour atteindre les sommets...), ne ratez pas la villa Médicis à Poggio a Caiano, à quelques kilomètres, qui est remarquable (l'entrée pour la visite est gratuite)... Puis Pise, qui est à 1h10, qui est aussi à faire si vous avez le temps... Le patrimoine est riche et une semaine c'est court... Nous avons pris le temps de nous imprégner de la vie locale et de diversifier les balades, n'oubliez pas de flâner dans cette belle campagne... Attention, les sites culturels et patrimoniaux ferment vers 16h30 en Italie... Merci pour cet inoubliable séjour, nous reviendrons sans hésiter!!! ##### Carine M. Jul 8, 2012 #### "Ce logement est un point... "Ce logement est un point de départ idéal pour visiter la Toscane, ses villes d’art comme sa campagne vallonnée composée d’oliviers et de vignes. La vue sur Florence et les champs d’oliviers depuis la terrasse et la piscine ont été un réel plaisir quotidien ! (surtout à l’heure du petit-déjeuner, quand le soleil donne sur la terrasse). De plus, nos hôtes ont fait preuve d’une grande gentillesse et d’une discrétion très appréciable. Leurs conseils de visites étaient les bienvenus, car les guides que nous avions emportés ne disaient pas tout des endroits à découvrir. Nous recherchions la tranquillité dans un lieu dépaysant, et l’avons trouvé pendant les deux semaines de notre séjour, juste avant l’été. Et la chance a été avec nous, car beau temps tous les jours. Le logement est bien exposé, frais les jours de grosse chaleur (seconde semaine). Nous gardons cette adresse en mémoire, sans réserve, pour nous comme pour nos amis. La Toscane mérite largement que l’on y revienne une seconde fois.
