The location is absolutely stunning—tucked away in a peaceful setting with the soothing sound of the river just steps away. Mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee and evenings by the fire pit were highlights of my stay.The host (Courtney) is so friendly and very supportive throughout the stay, always checking to see if we needed anything.The house is just a few minutes away from Carmel village, and we ate the juiciest strawberries and avocados for a quarter of the price in LA metro. Plenty of things to do and see within 1 hour drive in any direction and the small-town charm of the Valley was a nice change of pace. We were able to do all our favorite things we have done in the past from this location with very little time wasted driving. The Monterey Aquarium, Cannery Row, Big Sur, 17-mile drive and of course our favorite restaurants and some new favorites added to the list. When we were there, there was a huge hail storm but we were able to watch from inside with all the big windows and the fire on. The bunk room is a fun little touch, and the gals that slept in it said it was the best sleep of their life. It gets total darkness and really peaceful. The owner was really responsive and helpful during our stay. We had a few questions, and she was also proactive in reaching out to us to make sure we were all set. The bunk room is in a shed outside. The VRBO is FULLY stocked! All supplies, knives, cooking utensils, spices, ketchup, mustard, etc is there which is rare. The host is very responsive and provides recommendations to everything in the area. Our whole group was very happy with the location and house. ##### Thomas K. It definitely exceeded our expectations. This rustic lodge was lovingly restored and immaculate. The lodge is centrally located so you can enjoy the local wineries as well all the great restaurants in the area. Courtney was absolutely wonderful and gave us great suggestions for things to do in the area as well special touches that were so appreciated by us. Thank you so much Courtney.
